its better news than the RFL propping up a wales team for 2 years and then watching it fold. anything that gets new kids playing the game is good news. |

Excellent news IMO I feared we wouldn't see anymore welsh players in SL once the crusaders folded. This will propose an excellent path way.
Maybe the RFL har finally realised to expand you need to build foundations. Also well done Wigan for their involvement in this

Great news! I think they should do the magic weekend down there again, in A few years time, have internationals down there aswell every year with maybe Scotland. Think there's always potential with wales RL to grow and make our sport better!

This has nothing to do with the RFL. The WRL are a separate organisational body. But you are definitely right and it is a fantastic concept to develop good young Welsh players into full blown professional RL players. There is much talent in South Wales in terms of rugby ability and we should harnessing this as best as possible in order to increase the British player pool. Wigan are very much leading the way in this development and other SL clubs should be sitting up and taking notice. |

Sounds like better facilities than most SL academies! We have set up something similiar in WA and are already seeing kids going through to NRL U20's squads. Positive step forward for Welsh RL and the much needed growth of Jnrs in the sport.
