| Not read the whole thread, so not sure if anyone has mentioned Darren Albert yet? Loads of praise for Lyon and what he did for Saints, but Albert has to be up there with the best wingers during the last 10 years!!

Mainly from fans sticking to players from recent eras.
Vainikolo (IMO) was the most feared, if not the best winger in SL (never mind imports), and that includes the likes of Richards, Albert, King and Hall etc. Like Lyon, Vainikolo also came over at his peak, which distances those two from many of the other contenders being discussed in the thread.

| 152 games, 149 tries and 1 goal.
He was unreal. A beast. A winger that could single handedly turn a game. A shame for Super League he went to union.

Maybe, but his knees appeared to have gone by then. We had the best of him, for sure.

Was just trawling through the pages wondering if he was going to get a shout. Incredible player.
would have liked to see more of Greg Bird - think with a few more seasons he would have been a contender.

| How about a greatest Exiles team? Based on SL alone. Ive extended it for the whole of SL to make it a llittle easier.
Webb
Vainikolo Lyon Renouf Richards
Barrett Lam
K.Leuluai Buderus O'Meeley
Lauititi Furner
Menzies
Fitzgibbon, M Monnaghan, Perillini, Nutley
That would be a pretty decent outfit, take some beating thats for sure.
I was struggling for props but with Perillini and Nutley both had brilliant seasons at one point or another.

| some of the overseas players aren't necessarily NRL imports - don't think the Paul brothers came from NRL (or first grade in any case) for example - also i think Jamie Lyon was wandering around in the bush somewhere as he had quit Paramatta some time earlier from memory.
Saints always seem to have decent imports from the NRL - Albert, Puletua (Lyon), Fairleigh.
I agree with Barrett as he seemed to be MoM constantly for Wigan - Renouf was class, even though Brisbane has the best years of him.
Vainikolo, Vagana and Withers for Bradford. Latterly Menzies.
Solomona and Domic for Wakey, although i thin Aiton will become great for us.
M Monaghan for Wire, seems consistently excellent.
Greenshields and Adam Mogg for Catalans

| Kind of an unsung hero must be George Carmont. He came over at the same time Matt King signed for warrington, George Carmont has been outstanding since arriving in the super league.

| Not up there with the SL level candidates, but at Salford we have done well for props from the NRL of late: Cashmere, Stapleton and Rutgerson. Honourable mentions for McGuinness and Henry in the backs.
Joel Moon looks like he has some serious potential for us at the minute. We've seen flashes of brilliance from Patten and Holdsworth but they haven't really shone yet.
Since the start of Super League Jamie Lyon and Alfie Langer stand out for me. Vainikolo was undoutedly a great winger but I still feel it was largely a case of size over skill with him.

| Maybe not the best but Brett Dallas was a joy to watch, particularly when he had space to stretch his legs

| Jamie Lyon wins it hands down, for Salford Kevin McGuinness, Sean Rutgerson and DJ Holdsworth as DR said Joel Moon looks to have great potential been outstanding so far.

| Totally forgot about Vainakolo. Simply the most feared winger there has been in Super League.
