Why would they even entertain the new possible ownership?'"
OK a fair and straightforward question. The Superleague of course do not want Toronto, but you seem to believe that what is up for sale is a Superleague club in Toronto??
It's not that at all. If someone in Toronto wanted to buy them they they probably can do, and return next season in the Championship. They are out of Superleague as a punishment for leaving it high and dry and breaking their participation agreement. Add the dirty tricks of leaving the players high and dry, which is turning most nasty for the players and their families.
Remember Argyle isn't broke, he's a $$Billionaire, he can pay them.
AFAIK two bidders dropped out because there was no automatic SL place in the deal.
Newcastle didn't buy them as they were asked silly money (Newcastle wanted to buy them and then agree with SL for Newcastle to take over TWP's Superleague place under a new participation agreement, I only assume Kurdi had spoken to SL to see if this was possible, he probably did though, and I believe that SL would have entertained a new ownership from the right buyer to then transfer them to somewhere like Newcastle.
PROPER EXPANSION Perez transferred Hemel to Ottawa. Remember that Mr. Expansion?
Argyle didn't need Newcastles money anyway, and wasn't prepared to play ball on that one to help SL out. He's a Billionaire for goodness sake, doesn't need the money.
The fourth bid was Ricky Wilby, but I doubt it was nothing more than him playing the big man and pretending New York were all ready to join.
Anyway Argyle would not give them away or sell them so why do you think that was? Seems pretty likely that it was some kind of
"stuff you lot" for Superleagues constant cold shoulder towards Argyle, it looks like revenge against SL whilst Argyle sizes up a stake in Melbourne.
What is happening to the players is disgusting...........Anyway there you go now I'm going to the Lakes.......(Not the canadian ones)
