With regard to multiple log-ins and ID's.....the moderators have never cast aspersions on mine.....and if PHIPPS is the long lost Bazza, it would be hard to prove as Bazza is now on a different continent...so IP tracking would be tough. The only ID that a moderator on this board has cast doubt upon is Huddersfield1895/dally messenger. Personally, I don't think they are one and the same...but for the record, dally messenger posts here, Dally posts on the sin bin!
As for geographical location, I would suggest that wherever dally messenger is, it ain't on this planet!
Back on thread.....(ish)....Watched the IRB 7's from Hong Kong the other day....Portugal .....the little place at the side of Spain, nearly turned over New Zealand in the QF
24 Teams entered, including USA who finished second in Englands group, Russia, Mexico, Malaysia, Korea, Spain and the usual suspects in Fiji, Samoa, Aust, SA, ScotlanD, France, Wales, Kenya, Tonga, etc.....Now....I am sure that the IRB together with the RFU's of the 20 nations participating in the RUWC later this year are all bricking it based on a TV deal for a local sport with 16 club sides
As for AFL.....I agree it is boring as hell but to call it a localised sport is a little rich Hudds'95........the NRL +ESL over 15 games this weekend had 184,995 people through the gates at an average of 12,333.
Just because League is played in 2 localities doesn't make it any more or less of a local hobby than AFL....which got 317,628 fans for 8 games (39,704).....
Back to Union...7 games of S15 Rugby averaged 25,012 this weekend gone(175,084) with the 3 aussie games averaging 18,133.........if we wanted to be really pedantic and add the Aviva Premiership to the mix (65,000/10,833), then over 13 games the total was 240,083 averaging 18,468.....6k more than League!
So...to recap.........
AFL over 8 games got the highest average
S15 was next with 25,012
NRL next, with 15,470
Aviva Union with 10,833
ESL with 8,747
Combine the 2 rugby codes and this looks like:
AFL 39,704 - 8 GAMES
uNION 18,468 - 13 GAMES
LEAGUE 12,333 - 15 GAMES
