Can you not understand your own writing, reread your post. You infer that because your club is old it should be held to a different account/standard than my new club....definition of double standard. You are simply trying to have it both ways....doesn't work like that!

| Quote Trinity18="Trinity18"Like we did in 2011? Definitely not, I love my club but it doesn't say I agreed with it.
Very different scenario either way, we were a club with almost 140 years of heritage and a squad which would have seen us get relegated.'"
Ok, so you're saying that any investment from a clubs chairman, basically any revenue that isn't tv rights, commercial or fan generated, is bad money and we should turn away anyone wanting to put money into the sport? Or do you only apply that moral standard to new clubs?

I'll just wait for you to come back with a quote from where I said " any" investment is bad money, obviously can't read either.

Read my comment... Like we did in 2011? Definitely not, I love my club but it doesn't say I agreed with it.
The second part of my comment was me admitting I could see some sort of reasoning as throughout the 140 years of heritage we've been there and done it. We every other club have done, we started from the very bottom and earned our place in the league. We then invested money because we had to... realistically did Toronto NEED to or could they have spent some time building up as a club and bringing some of the Trialists through as better players to play alongside the over seas players?

The current success of Toronto only continually verifies that it has chosen the right path for that Club. The proof is in the pudding.
After 140 years you have muddled it...in 1 1/2 years Toronto has achieved it....and you are telling us what to do?
CRAZY MAN, JUST CRAZY!

Maybe you could clarify what sort if investment is good or bad, just so we have the faintest idea what the hell your point is. Cheers.

Yep, and this is a professional sport. So you'd be better off going and watching Sharleston if you don't like it.
Toronto really can't win with some.
"other expansion clubs have failed, they should start at the bottom and work their way up"
- They do so and they're accused of "buying" success.
"how much ill it cost clubs/the RFL"
- Absolutely nothing, plus they even bring money into RL, "yeh but that's bad money"
"They have too many overseas players"
- They have the same non-fed rules as all the other clubs.
None of your points stack up. Just be honest, you don't want RL to expand as you quite like RL being a small parochial sport.

Come on then lad, I'll ask you again. Just get me a few quotes together from where I said it was bad money? They're a club based in Toronto but currently don't have one player from the country playing for them, it defeats the purpose of having a club over there?!
You've not answered this yet, how have they not bought success? Like I said before - 9 NRL grade players and 18 ranging from Championship to Super League standard because they've literally thrown money at clubs whilst playing against part time clubs. It's embarrassing and again not admirable
I do want RL to expand, like they're doing with magic weekend and now the semi final of the cup but not like this.
They literally held on to one of the lads from the Trialists, why couldn't they develop something on the back of it? They've literally replaced the squad.

I fail to see your point. Buying success is wrong?
Like saints paying Barba.
Leeds getting players like peacock, sinfield, moon et Al.
And Bradford with vinakolo, Paul brothers etc.
The best players go to teams that pay them.
Toronto are clearly expanding the game, how many rl fans were in Canada 4 years ago?
Rl needs more money that means more fans watching live and on TV.
The magic weekend and a semi final in Bolton is not expansion, it's sound financial management of the current fan base.
Magic is an extra game that generate money for the game but predominantly uses existing fans.
A double header semi final minimises stadium costs whilst maximising revenue by hosting it in the back yards of Wigan, saints, Warrington and Leigh.

Your key word being predominantly, it attracts new fans - proof? I've family myself who have never watched a minute of Rugby yet came up to watch the latest double header in Newcaslte. Would you call that expansion? As small as it may be?

All out of context... they're 1 and 2 players. Not 27 so don't talk absolute rubbish
