yes, our league is improved by bringing over top quality, international quality overseas players,
it is not improved by clubs bringing over 2nd and 3rd string NRL players to fill the gaps left by their under-invested failing youth systems |

5 (some include Finneagn but the RFL say he is a Brit). Of the 5 3 are GF winners. 2 have NZ caps and one has several SOO appearances.
Rumoured we are signing Fulton. he played 21 times lastseason and has won a GF
I would be appalled if the giants tried to sign a reserve grader.
So young Cudjoe knows he is not picked because SOO player Brett Hodgson is there. he can be mentored by a top Oz player. There is some wakey reserve grade player who will not get picked because of an Oz reserve grade player from whom he will probably learn very little. And when Brett goes back Leroy will have learned from a brilliant guy and still be only 22/23. |

So what reserve grade player are we talking about then? Like it's been said and I'll say it again we have all our capable youngsters playing we are down to the bare bones. I would love us to sign a young capable english talent but there just not available at the moment.
I'm sure if Huddersfield had a mass injury and illness crisis mr uncle sugar daddy would have his check book out like a shot and sign any available aussie before he dipped into the Academy ranks. |

Wow so this week you don't have a full team?! Or for the next month while FW gets his visa. Plus noone coming back from injury. Nor is there anyone at any other UK club nor any NRL players who are first teamers. Can you provide the link to this information. Will your games be declared null and void? |

all this is lovely, but largely irrellevant to the FACT that Wakefield have gone out and signed a fringe NRL player who cannot be described as anything but a 'punt', this player now takes them up to 10 Overseas players for this season outof a 25 man squad, the NRL has provided more players for wakefield than wakefield have
your argument regard wakefield not being able to afford to scout the UK and bring through players like Leeds do, rings very hollow when they can afford to scout Australia and bring over fringe youngsters to give them a shot, why not go get a british youngster and give them a shot?'"
So why have Leeds got Australian players then fool. Or are you saying it's alright for Leeds to sign the ones they can afford but Wakefield can't. We have a quota spot free we can sign who we want. |

We now have the press cuttings. thanks for them. I looked at his Bulldogs profile and it said no reps honours. (maybe Oz clubs think developmental games are not proper reps games)
If he played for samoa three years ago as a tier 2 country then that may be enough. Box ticked and over he may pop.
Still rather sad that a game for a developmental Samoan side 3 years ago is enough. Not being able to get games in a NRL team that had problems in its back row last year is not an impediment.
If our game is strengthened by bring over reserve grade NRL players so be it

After the WC debacle many raised the issue of us bringing in lower quality overseas players. they had a point.
Wakey players like Drew/Petersen/Stosic/Martin have proven NRL records they bring proven ability to the game and can help develop youngsters. Winterstein does not do this.
But given a game in 2006 looks like he will be on his way.'"
