Quote: Him "Oh no. You don't get to swerve like that. How about you explain how it's the complete disaster that you've portrayed it as before asking questions of other people.
You have a very strange posting style. You didn't ask me any questions and then accuse me of not answering your questions.
Explain your posts, in the current context. If you can't, then retract them or at least do what other posters do and disappear for a while.
As for petty insults, how many times have you called the England coach McBanana?
At the moment you sound like a petulant teenager who's got so worked up over the game they're so devastated at the loss they can't think straight and must blame it on someone.'"
I asked questions throughout the thread which you chose to explore and then resorted to petty insults. You may notice that my insults mirror exactly those used against me.
I am not worked up about the game. I have been consistent before the WC started and was making to same points about the England coach when he was first appointed. and am making the same points now.
McBanana was not the right coach.
Chase and Sinfield were not the half back combination ( i used to argue for Sinfield and Bough ) as had not seen enough of widdop.
When it was clear Chase and Sinfield were not working why did he wait until the last game to bring Widdop in.
He was happy to make other changes after one or two games ie Charnley and Briscoe
Why did he pick 17 players and only play 16.
Why was the selection of players so wrong ie Mossop and Tom Burgess
Why was discipline so bad we lost several players.
These are important questions that you and many seem to ignore.
All of these questions have been asked by many others as well.
As for this WC being a disaster it is a combination of what it is and what it could have been.
Did it have a main sponsor. How many of the games were seen by the British Public. I would argue that many of the best games were only seen on a minority payable cable channel.
The above two are concerning FACTS.
As for what it could have been i admit it is conjecture but reasoned.
IF England had got to the final it would have been headlines on the sports and probably main news all week. I think that would have been good for RL in this country beyond the M62.
If England had won the final it would have geberated publicity that exceeded anything that RL in this country had ever had.
England won the RU WC 10 years ago on THursday and that piece of commentary with Johhny Kicking the DG was all over the news. Engalnd winning the RLWC would have had the same efect.
Another game with England in on BBC would have got more people watching the game.
A full house for that England game at OT would have attracted sponsors nationally and locally.
I will let you into a secret Sponsors like to be associated with teams that win things and are successful. Do you think England getting to the final and maybe winning would have improved Rl.s chances of sponsorship.
Who is sponsoring SL next season ?
Would a WC win have helped ?
Maybe you can Explain your posts, in the current context. If you can't, then retract them or at least do what other posters do and disappear for a while.
At the moment you sound like a old man who's got so immune to RL failure that you cannot see the negatives because you are so used to accepting mediocrity that can't think straight and must avoid thinking about the issues and blame it on another poster who is so disappointed at an opportunity lost.
