Pretty much agree. Warrington need to be firing but they're a good enough side to do exactly that.

| Quote infamous grouse="infamous grouse"50/50 call for me, yes it got them back to within one score but they had Saints under pressure at the time.
If they'd have took a chance and managed to get a try, who knows???'"
Yeah fair point, I can see it both ways. I certainly don’t see it as a terrible or game defining call.
Wire’s inability to be composed with the ball was a far bigger issue.

| I still get the feeling Saints have a soft underbelly. Last year in both semis they got knocked about and lost, I can see them falling short in the GF run in.

| Despite playing their reserves, Wire made a decent fist of this one, arguably better than Saints reserves managed against London the other week.
Having, written the game off before kick off, Price will have slept well last night.
However, Warrington are dropping to many points at the moment and could be down to 3rd after the weekend.
Although Saints are miles ahead in the table, the battle for the rest of the top 5 spots will (pardon the pun) go down to the Wire and should Wigan turn them over next week, things will get very tight indeed.

Warrington gave a decent show of themselves at times but lets be honest, with the league sewn up and a CC final on the horizon, we didnt need to get out of first gear to comfortably see them off with young Jack Welsby completely outplaying Ratchford.
If Warrington dont pick up their form, they could drop out of the 5. I dont think that will happen per se, but its a distinct possibility given how poor they have become since June.

I didn't expect the saints to put so much effort into wining this game, in saying that it was the young players in the squad who stepped up to contribute to the win. Couldn't understand the "love in" by the Sky team rabbiting on about playing 2 17 year olds whilst at the same time playing some over the hill players in Smith, Burrell and Westwood.
Yet saints just tap into the Academy team and play the likes of Welsby, Costello ,Richardson, Lees, Smith, Bentley and Ashworth and all those young players were the ones who stood out last night.

I don't know how any team, other than a full strength Catalans Dragons (which is far from full strength now), can hope to challenge St Helens at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile we face a one sided ":boreathon" at Wembley. I for one, will not be flying from Carcassonne to London to sit through the CC Final.'"
Why not travel from where you’re really from then instead of pretending to have to go from Carcassone?

| Was a poor game. Loop fixtures do nothing for be sport. Going into this and next week’s games I’m thinking “are we playing these again?!” Come October we could have faced Wigan and Saints six times this season, we really don’t need to face each other an extra time in these loop fixtures... anyway that’s a different matter.
Some good performances from both teams, some poor ones for Wire. Thought Ratchford Livett Murdoch-Masilla and Akouala did well, thought Westwood was so bad I’d never play him again!
Saints played with more intensity, that’s why they’re so far away at the top. They don’t particularly do anything special, they just run harder and pass with better timing than everyone else.

Some sensible remarks there but given Ratchford set up both of Wire's tries and was our biggest threat all night you have got it wrong over who was the best fullback on the night.

Though both fullbacks played well.
Ratchford is a class act, have always rated him as a lovely player.
