Depends really on each club. Warrington just sign youngsters and never do anything with them and then release them meaning they need to sign more established players who’ll cost more. With Leeds and their marquee signings, over the next 2/3 years we genuinely have 7/8 youngsters that will be first teamers yet because still young will still be making a certain lower wage.

Wire will surely have a significant amount of the cap tied up a a small number of players (Widdop, Austin, Ratchford, Charnley, Clarke, Hill, BMM). Lineham was also signed on big money but out of contract at the end of this season so he might be the first casualty of their spending elsewhere.

Yep can definitely see that. Like I said it’s ok if you got a core of youngsters coming through who are still on a lower wage but we all know when it comes to youngsters Warrington just sign them from other teams, barely play them and set their careers back before letting them go..

Gareth Widdop will be moved to full back by St George-Illlawarra for the 2019 season. The chances are that he will be so happy playing in that position in Sydney that he will reconsider his desire to locate to the UK.
