| Quote: PrinterThe "They're in London for Remembrance Sunday, bit of a difference to nipping over to Twickenhan than travelling over to Australia.
Surely the chip on some RL fans shoulders can't be that big even after I pointed out Prince Harry didn't go to a Lions match even though he was in Australia at the time.
If it was a home WC you'd have a point, but it's not so you just look daft.'"
At the last count there's plenty of Royal Family members to cover if Harry had travelled to Australia and as they observe Rememberence day in Australia he could have attended that also.

| After watching haka at the start of the NZ Tonga, couldn't we incorporate something like this. I was thinking maybe a Morris dance and as they skip around James Graham could skip around and hit the opposition with a pigs bladder, no bells of course, that would be silly. Would love to see this brought in. Come on England!!

So you think Remembrance Sunday is just about having enough Royal Family to "cover" the occasion.
That you're criticising someone for attending Remembrance Sunday over a RL match in Australia where even the coach has put out a 2nd strong side is ridiculous.
Damn Prince Harry, he shouldn't be remembering those who have lost their lives for this country, he should be watching Kevin Brown at HB and Stefan Ratchford play on the wing.....that's more important.

The thing I'm unhappy about is the reluctance of the Royal Family to attend any major RL event whereas they always appear to have time to attend RU games. If it turns out that they prefer the other game then fair enough but if that is the case why did the Queen and then Harry accept the role of Patron?

He didn't appear at the Lions games even though he was Down Under at the time. Instead he flew back to the UK to be at an event that promoted kids playing RL.
He's the patron of MANY things and supports MANY others. You might like to think he just sits at home in his England RU pj's watching the DVD of the 2003 RU WC final but reality is he's a seriously busy guy. For some ridiculous reason some RL fans think he should make RL his top priority of all the things he supports.

| And if he had rocked up to the England games, I would give it 5 posts until we saw the cries of him freeloading

| England should make Jerusalem their national anthem, especially the RL team, Jerusalem is a genuinely inspiring song about striving to be better, our current national anthem is pledging allegiance to the the most privileged woman of the past century

| Putting all personal opinions on the monarch aside, GSTQ is a commonwealth anthem not an English one. My opinion has always been that Jerusalem should be our anthem. As a very proud Englishman, it’s always been upsetting for me that we don’t have a national anthem specific to England. I don’t identify myself as being British either though, I’m English. Would a Scotsman or Welshman, if asked, say they are British? Would they boll0x, so why do English have to say they are British?! We need an English anthem!

as chippiness goes, you are coming across as the Harry Ramsdens of RL fans.....he went to Eton......e's a soldier who defends his country, he has admitted to having counselling to deal with his demons...... he likes Rugby Union.....he attends RL events as part of his role in RL......mbve along, there's little here to see other than potato peelings from Mr Chippy!

| Back on topic, I would be happy to hear "I vow to thee my country", as a sporting anthem. Just the first verse.

| It's my national anthem.
Jerusalem is a great song but isn't my national anthem.
I love the royal family especially the grandsons and their involvement in the military and emergency services is inspirational.
The fact that they are involved with other sports has no relevance to us.
I wonder when we last asked them to be involved in a Wembley? I should think other spots plan their involvement 10 years ahead.
