Why would they be relegated? They have been punished by the RFL with a 6 point deduction, why would they punish them a second time? There is nothing in the RFL rules that says administration = loss of license is there? Presuming a buyer is found that can show investment to maintain their SL license then I would expect them to be in SL next season.

A buyer probably has about 1 week to show up and get it sorted.
The players have been told they can walk if they can find another club.
Those same players have to look after themselves so unless they intend on letting them play in SL with the reserves they had better get on with it PDQ.
Also we need to remember 2 more things.
Firstly any buyers cannot have conditions in their offer which includes asking for proof of a certain SL licence.
Secondly the RFL have 1 of 14/15 votes so they won't be the ones who will have the final say the other SL clubs will.

So how late do the RFL leave it before trying to find a replacement ?
Given that any new entrant will then have to put together a SL squad from sctratch and will only have essentially 1 season to prove their worth , before having to apply to remain in SL
Times up for the Bulls, they created this mess, time to clean it up, I'm not passing judgement, but that is the way it is

IIRC the final decision rests with the RFL regardless of what the other member clubs say, |

BUT if SLE own them then the situation changes as then ALL the other clubs as well as the RFL own them and so then the RFL have only 1/14 of the control. |

If there's a buyer out there prepared to pay off the debts (or a sizeable chunk of them), why haven't they come forward yet?
Having refused to give ABC any assurances about the SL license I dont see how they could allow any other buyer to stay in SL unless their bid is demonstrably better than ABC's.

I'm sorry JB but that is rubbish.
You expect Bradford players to hang around until 1 month before the season starts without them knowing if they have a club and if they do what league they are going to be playing in?
All the Bradford players have been given permission to try and get deals elsewhere if they can.
If you think Bradford will be in any condition to fulfil a SL season if they only find out in December that they are good to go then you are living in cloud cuckoo land. |

Leave it at the start of the season and throw the world club challenge in there. |

Didn't Blake Solly say that there will definitely be 14 teams next year?
Time is certainly ticking, if the Bulls are to survive, something needs to happen by the end of August, so that they can hang on to as many players as they can.
Conversely, Fev/Fax/Leigh need to know by then if they are to be elevated as replacements, so that they can start signing up players.
Given that these clubs are already re-signing semi pro players for next year, this situation could get a whole lot more messy

I agree, that's why I think it's preferable for the league to be a 13-team SL until the next licence period, if something can be worked out with the Magic Weekend. |
