I can't see a blow out.

Finals rarely have heavy scores on one side or another

Quote: LeedsLurch "IMO if Salford can manage the first 15-20 minutes and not get blown away by a strong starting Saints side then there really will be a match on. If Saints get on a roll early there could be a blow out scoreline.
I'm hoping for a proper old fashioned ding dong battle'"

This is how I see it as well. If Saints score early on then they’ll win comfortably enough with a 2 to 3 try margin. If Salford get through the early stages without conceding, or score early on themselves, then it’ll go down to the latter stages. I think Saints should be too good for Salford and I think the step up in quality from playing a pretty dreadful Wigan side to a very good Saints side will be too much. Saints by 10. Would be great if we see a higher attendance than last year and hopefully a couple thousand of the Salford part timers turn up more regularly next year. I think it could be just the final Super League needs.

When Saints first met us back in February at the AJBell they were comfortable winners, beating us by 22. When we played them again at their place, a conversion in the last minute gave them the victory. Apart from London, I think we are the only other side to put thirty or more points on Saints, and the only side to do it at the totally wicked stadium. Open to corrections if my memory doesn't serve me right.

While I realise that previous form and indeed the rest of the season up until this point count for very little, I think that there will be no fear from Salfords point of view, and no complacency from Saints point of view. Hopefully making for a great game.

What is going for the Saints side is that this week the spotlight has firmly been placed on Salford. Saints havent even been mentioned that much, in most articles they get 1 or 2 lines at the end after how wonderful it is for Salford to even be there.
The pressure of being favorites has very much been downplayed

I would love an upset obviously. But think this will be game too far for Salford, I think they will be in the game but Saints will pull away in the 25-30 Mins.

Quote: RagingBull "Thousands of tickets left in the top tier behind the sticks at BOTH ends of the stadium! Including the last few rows which havnt been released for sale.

Top tier of the north stand (4084) not on sale.

Why o why as a sport cant we sell out these big events!'"

The view from the top tier is poor.
Obviously people would rather pay extra for the better seats.

To be fair the threads on your part of this forun have all been started by Warrington fans and contain a fair bit of spitefulness (which I can't fathom given your not even in the game).

As I said most people have come on here for a reasonable discussion, not sure why you are trying to deflect this thread away from the final to Warrington and drag it down.

Back to discussion of the final, it seems like the ticket sales have been going strong and Salfords appearance is generating some great headlines for both the game and Salford.

Let the final go its history..concentrate on Saturday...as for reasonable discussion you wanna try it as your one eyed views on our forum prove... As for Saturday I believe saints will win.. But will be wanting Salford to win..

Not sure why the some media has been building this as 'David and Goliath'. Salford are a club with a good history and have been Champions a lot more recently than the likes of Wire. (well, I suppose that's not difficult)

As for the match itself, if Saints get on a roll early they could blow Salford away, but if it's still close around the hour mark then anything could happen. Not sure who I want to win because I don't like Mancs and I don't like woolybacks either.

Good to see though Salford's appearance on the big stage is generating extra interest from the media. I'm not sure that would've been the case had St Helens faced one of the other big guns or a Warrington.

First paragraph - You've changed your tune as you've had plenty of digs about Salford in the past. icon_lol.gif

Second paragraph - Nice try but I'm sure you already know Salfordians aren't Mancs. h025.gif icon_lol.gif

Third paragraph - We finally agree on something. icon_thumb.gif

Can't see anything past a Saints win although it wouldn't surprise me if they bottled another big game.

I take it your a Widnes fan by the way you've had a couple of digs at the wire.apologies if I'm wrong..as for the end of season final Salford are massive underdogs hence the 10 start..still can't see past a saints win..hope its not a controversial saints win.
