The ball lands 4 meters ahead of where he passed it and in front of him....the different shading in the grass cut clearly shows the ball has traveled 4 mtrs forward.....most blokes are 2 meters tall at best, so the length of 2 men ahead of where it left his hands......Dan Marino has passed more laterally'"
You still don't seem to understand physics, it doesn't matter where the player that passed it is when the ball hits the ground, all that matters is did the ball leave the hands of the player passing it backwards.
Your screen grabs are not proof of anything other than you don't seem to know what your on about I'm afraid
I've just watched the clip again.
A. You have got the wrong person Sutcliffe is way ahead of where the ball lands.
B. It really wasn't a forward pass - it was a rubbish pass but not forward.

| Hopefully that puts the matter to bed and Call me God will admit his argument was based upon him getting the wrong player

1. I got the wrong player....but my argument is still sound.
2. The ball still lands on the ground 4 meters ahead of where it was passed.......it was forward. Momentum is one thing, but 4 meters in a second is pretty much a slam dunk in terms of it being forward......I'd be happy for the games governors to remove any doubt about this....the ball must be caught behind the point from where it was passed.......flat/lateral.....it's just too vague.

Congratulations. You've just ended all forms of rugby because you don't understand basic physics.

is there a cup or a rosette or something?
FFS.......it was a forward pass. No amount of throwing a nun out of a moving plane will change that. The ball landed on the ground 4 meters ahead of where the player threw it........that's a forward pass, whether intended or not!

| Having watched the highlights, there is no way that pass from Sutcliffe that Myler picked up is forward. No way.
However the pass to Sutcliffe for the break is a clear forward pass.
I presume that's what some people are complaining about.

Correct on both counts.

| It looks like a clumsy pass that slips out of his hands rather than being under full control (which is probably why it hits the ground rather than finding a player). When the ball does hit the ground, at that point he's run on to be level with the point of impact, and hence not a forward pass. Hard for the ref to see that in real time though, and wouldn't have been surprised if it had been given forward.

He's 2 metres ahead of it. It's not even close to being a forward pass. The referee was dead level with him and looking at him as he threw it, so he saw it come out of his hands backwards and then travel backwards.
There is no argument to make about it being a forward pass, there is no controversy, there is only confusion amongst people who don't understand how passing while running works.
