Can you really see any reason why he’d be making it up?

| It is a bit far fetched to suggest Chalmers has gone to print with a fictional tale of Hudgell and Carters shenanigans. But as to what their actual game is I don't know.
It's certainly clear from some particularly strong statements FROM Hudgell that there is personal animosity toward Chalmers and possibly the bulls.
If it's simply a case of being self appointed police to try and make sure we don't buy back the lease for less than them deem acceptable then I'd say to them that they have benefited financially from Bradfords demise already (the withheld funding everyone gobbled up and which led to another administration) and could they now just bugger off and leave us alone.

| I'm aware in taken the thread off at a tangent so if anyone wants to talk about it separately we can split it. Love and kisses etc etc.

| Think they're just trying to make sure the lease isn't sold back to Bradford on the cheap.

What is "on the cheap" though? Are they going to contrive a market value by offering an amount higher than the RFL valuation?
And if the RFL called their bluff and sold it to them, could they be the landlord of another club? It's absurd.

That’s the only reason I can think of for doing it.
If true that’s pretty pathetic and shows why this game struggles to progress.

Presumably they just offer what they believe it's worth. Michael Carter isn't an idiot, he's not going to overpay for something just to make a point. I imagine the goal is just to make sure that Bradford pay the market rate for it as it would indeed be pretty absurd having other chairmen owning the lease of Bradford's ground but the most important thing is that the RFL get a proper price for it, especially after the amount of money they've wasted the last few years with things like Nigel Wood's severance package.

| Not buying it
dunno about Hudgel but why would MC give a flying one how much Bradford pay for their lease
If he is genuinely interested in some way with Odsal, it would be purely a business interest I would have thought.
It doesn't make any sense so I'm calling BS, if something is going on, I highly doubt it has anything to do with ******* Bradford over.

| I know that Carter was appointed by the rest of the SL chairmen to look into where the RFL have been spending money, why it's been spent and if the money can be spent better elsewhere and they get better value - words to that effect. it was talked about it earlier in the year on one of the podcasts with Wilson and Schofield on. That's the only reason I can think of why his name, in particular, is being brought up. We personally haven't got the money and could spend any cash on a million other things.

"We "(Trinity) may not have the cash but, that is massively different from Carter being able to raise funds independently, to take over the Odsal lease.Certainly, if there was a deal to offload it on the cheap, any astute businessman would fancy having a pop.
With some of the alleged shennanegens that went on when Yorkcourt couldnt come up with the cash to buy BV, which eventually led to 88M buying the site, it's certtainly concievable that he could come close to raising the cash for the Odsal lease, especially if it was going cheap and if theis keeps The RFL "honest", then that's absolutely fine.
As others have said, defining "market price" for Odsal would be interesting.

| If MC is seriously after the lease you have to wonder whether acquiring the Bulls at some stage might also be on his radar. As things stand, it's hard to see what else he can do with Wakey whereas the same restrictions wouldn't apply to the BB.

Seriously doubt it. Think he literally just wants to make sure the RFL don't get rid of it for a low price.

This guy is the owner of the Bulls? Wow. It read more like a fan having a rant and it's a bit embarassing really.
In what world would a prospective purchaser of a lease have to publicly explain their reasons for it and who else are they going to speak to other than the current owners?
That said Odsal is a money pit so I would be surprised that anybody wants that noose around their neck, Bull included, it screwed them over last time it might again.

Personally, I can't see it. he's said himself that's he's no multi-millionaire rich guy. At the most, I can see enquires been made on behalf of the SL teams seen as the RFL stumped up £1.3m for it wasn't it and they may want to take over that part of it. Also, it would be a conflict of interests if a couple of clubs bought it, which if I remember correctly isn't allowed anyway.
As I said, it's probably more to do with the job he agreed to do, due it being his skill set, by the other SL Chairman to make sure that the money the RFL put in isn't lost & given away on the cheap. I think it's no coincidence he was given that job months ago then not long after this started popping up.

I've only heard bulls fans talk about it and never read it before today, , it's like something you'd find on here.
Why doesn't he give MC a ring, he's very easy to get hold of apparently, instead of talking crap on the T&A about a story where he's getting information from news reports.
