Correct Matty.

| McGilvary's team is hardly one of the glamour ones. Johnstone'll be picked if he's deemed good enough.

Correct. Greg 'Rolling Thunder' Eden it is.

Come on, Johnstone could get past him in a phone box, without Eden laying a finger on him.
Eden is ok and scored plenty last season but, just as Solomona and Carney showed, playing on the left wing at Cas give you plenty of chances and now that he's playing elsewhere, Carney is no longer ripping it up.

You're on drugs man. Cement Eden would knock Johnstone & the phone box into next week. Then pull his bird.
You are correct on one thing though. If Johnstone got the service Cas's left wingers get he would score twice as many. I've said before, rarely does he seem to get quality ball from his centre. It's usually from scraps he picks up, a kick or speculative long ball.
A poor man's James Clare.

Is that the same James Clare that you "let" go to Leigh and then took back to fill the hole left by Mr Hardaker
And you think I'm on drugs

Bradford then Leigh and then back to you, with a couple of loan spells chucked in as well.
A good solid pro but, to say Johnstone is a poor mans James Clare, you really are quite funny or, deluded

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |

| Quote: Wigg'n "Didn’t Johnstone get dropped by Chester earlier this season?'"
For a game or two yes early season which some fans agreed and some disagreed but it seems Chester made the right call. He’d missed a pre season after a season ending injury and wasn’t quite back to his best and 100%, I personally thought early season Tom was being a bit cautious in his performances and with MCB fighting for his chance it made sense. On the flip side it’s a shame as the top try scorer award would have already been sealed by now but suppose you got to think long term benefits.
I’m glad that Chester rested him the odd games and it was probably as much about protecting Tom too and it paid off. I think the longer the time elapsed after his recovery the more confident he got.

| I'm not sure why people feel the need to put others down to show how good Johnstone is.
Hall has had a brilliant career and no one compares over that time.
Now he's coming to the but not ended.
Johnstone will get his chance but he has a lot of competition.
The one thing going for him is he's a left winger. A lot of the top wingers are on the right at the moment.
Time will tell.

Why am I not surprised you’re not backing him. It not that you don’t show a Trinity bias that’s your choice - me I’m totally biased. It’s that you show an I incredible anti your own team bias.
If having watched Tom over the last ten weeks scoring incredible try after try and youre not convinced he isn’t the best winger in SL both on form and ability then I can only assume it’s because you don’t want to be convinced.
I get why others may have doubts but how a so called fan who’s allegedly watched him in every game staggers me.

If ability is scoring tries in meaningless games, then maybe. However, what really counts is how you play at the highest level. Would Johnstone add as much to an England team v the Aussies as McGillvary? No, not like i have to prove this, McGillvary's record speaks for itself. One of the top 3 players in the last world cup as chosen by a panel of far greater esteem than you Vastman old lad. In the top games how you carry out of defence and finish chances is far more important than midfield agility and speed. Rankles when people try to put forward players untried as the BEST, good, yes, the BEST, definitely not, until proven.
