Probably but I wouldn't read too much into that, we excelled in playing people out of position, just ask Danny Addy

| Quote: Asgardian13 "I can't understand this selection. If Bennett thinks we need sound defense at left centre then Michael Shenton is the obvious choice. Shenton sometimes shows limitations in attack, but his defence is impeccable, and as a specialist centre he's streets ahead of Bateman for that role. The only reason to leave Shenton out is if you're going to select an out-and-out attacking centre (of which there are few, but Percival is the nearest in this squad).'"
Shenton's limitations in attack have seen him provide more assists then any centre and more then most half backs.
Would argue McMeekan would be a better centre then Bateman. That said Bennett is top dog.

Don't think he ever did. Whitehead played there a few teams, but whitehead has pretty much played on the right hand side nearly all his professional career.

It might be wise to get the bob martins in their pre match drinks, give em time to work

Is Shenton fit? There were rumours he hurt his groin in the build up to the GF and his efforts for Briscoe's two tries he didn't look too good.

| If Wayne bennets knowledge on the game is an ocean, by comparison people on here, their knowledge is a grain of sand.
And yet we have people stating we should "try something different, throw the ball around abit". Yeah, great, I'm sure Bennet is taking tips.

Get them chasing the ball for once. I'd rather lose a game 50 - 28 by throwing the ball around and having a dig than trying to match the Aussies style and losing 38-12.'"
Well well well, looky what we have here

Okay Wayne Bennet knows all. Let's shut down RLFans and any other RL forum that dares to discuss rugby league.

If the depth of the discussion is to "try something different, throw the ball around" then yeah, shut down rl fans.

| A controlled offload game might be a good idea. Sadly most of the time England try that sort of game we just end up coughing the ball up in bad positions due to trying to force it too often. Given our error rate is generally too high anyway, that just adds to our problems. One of the key things we need to do is react much faster as a team to things such as turnovers. In Origin and for Australia as soon as the ball hits the deck the whole team is lightning fast to realign in attack or defence. That is a big difference - it means the Aussie defence is already set when we pick up a loose ball and look to move it around, but when the Aussies get it they are often facing a defence in complete disarray.

| We need to play a smart game were we do not push the ball, were we simply play straight sets of 6 and set our defenses.
Once we are on top of our defence we can let our backs take over, that might not be in this game, but maybe in the next game, but whatever happened, this is not a CUP match and the tournement doesn't end if England lose, this is were we set our platform.

| The only way we are going to beat them is by trying something different. Start with a spot of Morris dancing rather than the national anthem.

| We've tried chucking the ball about before. We end up running around like headless chickens, panicking and coughing up possession. As long as we're still in the game around the 60min mark, we've a chance of winning it. Just need to be mentally strong as well as physically.
