I've absolutely no ambition to sit in Coventry on a Saturday night in November to watch England play Scotland.

So Scotland, like NZ, are targeting Watkins defence - successfully.

They've got lots wrong with the scheduling of this game, a double header in cold November doesn't appeal, it's Bonfire Night and people will be out (and less viewers on TV)

Coventry isn't a town with a great reputation so people havent been keen to go spend a weekend there.

But ultimately fault lies with the RFL's poor marketing, as we know venues weren't announced til late in the day and little to no marketing done. You can expect a football and RU mad town to turn out to an event they don't know is on.

The RFL will be hoping that both England and NZ win tonight to boost the crowd for next week in London because sales there don't look fantastic either.

Seems Wasps RU were instrumental. Probably to make RL look daft.

So who are RU targetting? My guess - Watkins.

I'd like to think that Wasps had good intentions, they own the ground so need extra income (there are rumours the football team are moving out again) but then they will have encountered RFL organisation which is light years behind the RFU.

We need someone new to do the marketing, sinply emailing the existing RFL list of past customers isn't enough what agency helped the NFL turn one London game a year in to 6 games a year? who got a decent crowd to attend the Wembley semi in the 2013 world cup? The game needs fresh ideas

This has the standard and intensity of a super league game of 2016 ie Absolute garbage.

I was not one of those pre-scapegoating Watkins. But fact is both teams have targeted that side.

Nah wasps are just looking for extra revenue streams. They will bid to host a world cup game in 2021 also.

They even bidded for the magic weekend in 2017

I do think this should have been a double header but should have started earlier on in the afternoon. Problem is that with the Rugby Union tests starting this weekend I highly doubt that the BBC would have wanted to have the Wales vs Australia RU test go head to head go against England vs Scotland Rugby League match.

Now onto the game itself. England have been terrible. Serious lack of intensity!

Gale is having a shocker

well so far only hill and taylor are playing at a decent level. halves very average, hodgson poor.

I didn't realise England's right hand side defence solely consisted of Watkins. Considering it was Gale who got done it might be they're targeting him.
