Probably more an expansive outlook of London and the insularity of the provinces regardless of make up.

| Quote: Roy Haggerty "Birmingham was 50-50, essentially. Its suburbs were strongly Leave.
Liverpool, Manchester, Norwich, Bristol, Gloucester, Newcastle, Leicester, Leeds, York, Brighton, Exeter, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cambridge and Oxford all voted Remain. There's a map circulating social media right now which is very misleading as it ups it to regional level, and rubs out the cities. Essentially, the Cities voted Remain. The suburbs, towns and most of the shores voted Leave.
Likewise, a majority of people with jobs, both part-and full-time, voted Remain. A majority of people without jobs (which means far more Retired than unemployed), voted Leave.
There was a direct correlation between education and voting. The higher your level of education, the more you were likely to vote Remain. The least educated voted Leave in the largest proportions.
There was also a direct correlation between age and voting. The older you were the more likely to vote Leave. 75% of 18-24 voted Remain, as did a clear majority of 25-49. 70% of 65+ voted Leave.
In a nutshell, this is a decision imposed on educated, working, younger people in Cities, by poorly-educated, non-working, older people in suburbs and small towns.
Don't have a go at me or that. That's just a factual account. If you don't like the way it sounds, I can't do anything about it except deny the facts, which I don't tend to do because I'm not into the whole "alternate reality" thing which so many Leave supporters have going on.'"
The facts ain't wrong. I am rather hoping I'd turned on Yes Minister, fallen asleep and I'll wake up shortly, but that is a vain hope. Rather ironic the older generation go through hell to provide peace in Europe, enjoy the benefits and then screw their grand children. Some and probably more aren't poorly educated, they are more misinformed. The level and quality of debate was non-existent which says a lot about the politicians. The cultural shift in information so most only focus on what they want (social media and wider electronic content) has reduced information and thought. Or you believe the vision your newspaper spouts. You get what you want not something that might make you think. We are heading towards the vision in Idiocracy. However the impact on the sport regarding foreign players is less certain. I suppose we can go back to the ban on players moving between Northern and Southern Hemisphere that used to exist (pre KOLPAC) as that worked well.

Maybe the young ones haven't done there homework and some have a lemmings mentality to Facebook, twitter etc, the EU destroys jobs for young people whilst GB are kicking in massive training programmes. I think the government need to interact more with the younger age group, they are the lifeblood of our future.
Youth Unemployment in the EU
Youth Unemployment in Romania and Bulgaria 25% and Poland 21% is starting to fall because they are coming to the UK in the metropolitan areas of London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow etc..

I've got very little time for this argument. It essentially goes like this:
Leave voter says something racist
Remain supporter says "hey, that's racist"
Leave supporter says "see, you're so snobby"
Or
Leave supporter says something stupid
Remain supporter says "that's just not true - here's the reality"
Leave supporter says "you think you're so smart with your facts and you knowledge, looking down on me"
It's an impossible situation. Essentially it's a position which says that the only options are to accept ignorance and racism, or to accept the label of intellectual snob/sneerer: "if you disagree with me, you're attacking me". It's a position most parents will recognise when their children get angry with them for trying to correct their homework answers - the kids don't want to accept they are wrong, and so see the very act of correction as a personal insult.
Thing is, these are adults, and if we don't challenge them, their immature nonsense will take us into the abyss. Oh, it already has.

What about in the other 20 countries of the EU?
IIRC Germany is at about 7%, Czech Republic at about 9% and the EU average at about 18%.
Also, if the EU causes high youth unemployment how come Britains is that low?

Because we are not fully integrated into the EU, the other non eu countries have lower youth unemployment rates than us like Switzerland and Norway, Switzerland has one of the lowest rates in the world think Japan is the best.
Czech Republic is an interesting one in that part of the automotive industry have moved from the likes of Germany, France and Italy for cheaper production costs. Companies Bosch, Denso, Iveco, Tyco etc have established there, which I think hit the Italian truck industry the most as regards employment.

| Here comes the tsunami of Liberalistas.
It's all the fault of racists, the old, xenophobes, the uneducated, the unemployed, the rural- & suburb-dwellers, Corbyn, the misinformed, the manipulated, the ignorant.
It can't possibly be that our arguments weren't strong enough, or indeed that people actually don't like the idea of being part of the EU. That would have to admit that we (the educated, young, liberal, intelligent, well-informed, city dwellers) haven't either:
1) Been clever enough to argue persuasively such that sufficient of the uneducated masses would vote our way (which OF COURSE is the correct way)
2) That the concept &/or reality of the EU is nonsense.

Comparing apples and oranges as you well know.countries under communist rule until 20 years ago do not have economic strength of western democracies who would have thought it.COUNTRIES IN SOUTHERN EUROPE WITH LOW LEVELS OF INDUSTRY ARTC ARE STRUGGLING.
Still at least we can claim to have the most flexible workforce with over a million on zero hours contracts, on poverty wages which means that they have to claim benefits to live whilst Mike Ashley creams money off to spen on speculative football players. Where Philip Green stuffs the pensions of 13500 workers and steals money but buys himself a new private jet !
Yes the British economy is a beacon of hope to young people unless they get an education and start there life of with £50 k of debt,

Still we are all going to be better off outside the eu unless we have loans, mortgages drive cars, rely on anything that uses petrol works for a company that wants to borrow to invest
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-e ... m-36626201
And te funny thing is that we will be going through all of this whilst still paying £350 million per day to the EU for the next two years and now we have to wait an extra 4 months till the Tories can get Boris in,
Using Leavers logic that means we are spending £3.5 billion pounds wasted on te Tory leadership election.

I assume "Liberalista" is a word which had to be made up quickly when people who would previously have used "lefties" as an insult had to concede that half the Tory Party's voters, and nearly all the traditional Tory establishment, were in favour of Remain. But then, if you're going to use "Liberal" as an insult, perhaps you might consider what the opposite of liberal is? Illiberal? Authoritarian? Which label do you want which makes it clear you're not the sort of person to live and let live, which is what Liberal essentially means.
Anyway, I don't want to rain on your self-righteous parade, or anything, but you're saying here that Remain voters are personally criticising Leavers, whereas actually, all that's happening is that factual information has been posted which shows the breakdown of the voters. You don't like those facts, so you're attacking personally the people who present them. You are, in other words, committing precisely the act which you are falsely accusing others of committing.
I fear for what this godforsaken referendum has unleashed. It's emboldened bigots, promoted lies and dishonesty, poisoned public debate, and although I don't expect you'll notice it, based on the above, the most vociferous Leavers are currently demonising anyone who wasn't "with them", from Farage claiming that all "decent" people voted Leave, to endless drivel like yours on message boards all over the country where Leavers gloat, point fingers and scream "sneering snob" every time someone presents a fact they don't like.
Only this morning, in a different forum, a man I'd known for years - a fellow referee, posted that he was "more than happy" to see me and my family suffer harm as a consequence of this vote. Why? Because I'd dared to argue that the facts didn't support the Leave case. I've become "other", because I'm not joining in the flag-waving and jeering at immigrants and experts. I'm still in shock, to be honest. I've never wished harm on anyone, or their children, in my life, whether with me or against me politically.
You don't have to squint too hard to realise that this is fertile territory for fascism. It's a terrifying time for British society. There's a reason the rest of the world is aghast.

I think that might be an over reaction, myself I've found it fascinating judging all the "swings and roundabouts" on the remain/leave campaigns. For me it all changed when David Cameron went back to the EU to get a better deal and got near enough Zero benefits to Britain, what was worse was that David Cameron appeared to come back a bit "brain washed" and appeared to become a Eurocrat.
There was always going to heated debate, Leave Campaign having a calmer, optimistic approach, whilst Remain Campaign went a bit OTP on fear and negatives. I think the latter has caused insecurity among the younger group having no experience of historical change and the "bull dog" spirit.
Boris Johnson seemed very genuine on his concern of the 48% and the younger generation, the biggest challenge is to get the "remain" into positive dynamic forward thinking as we confront the global market place as a British Entity.

| Judder, if you think the Leave campaign was a 'calmer, more optimistic' approach, then we don't use those words in the same way.
Lies about Turkey? Lies about £350m? Screaming anti-immigrant headlines every day? Calling Nobel prize-winners "nazis"?
The Leave campaign was described by one academic as "dishonesty on an industrial scale". Since Friday, Leave leaders have already disowned their £350m figure which they maintained throughout, and now said that they had no intention of reducing immigration, which was their main selling point to many of their misled supporters.
You're about to find out just how badly they lied to you about the economics, too.
That's the problem with allowing charlatans to steer a country up the dead-end of vaccuous nationalism: there's only so many jobs in making Union Jack flags, and you can't eat them.
