| Back onto the BBC.
1. It has been reported in the Times that the BBC have secured the rights for the CC and SL highlights until 2020. Maybe the OP of this thread (and other auntie bashing ones) could point out how this fits with the state led campaign to destroy RL?
2. The BBC Rugby League page is awash with positive stories and even though they have covered the disgusting goings on in Serbia, it isn't "linked" or easy to find.
rlhttps://www.bbc.com/sport/0/rugby-league/34102910rl
Surely "evil auntie" would have such terrible news plastered all over its RL landing page if she had it in for RL?

Really? Yet another new profile Gutters? You're completely insane, seriously.
Blocked it.
BBC Story anyway: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/34110361
According to some, including the now blocked moron mentioned above who's trying to ride his high horse this morning, the incompetent RFL had given away all TV rights (including the Challenge Cup and international games) to one channel for the price of a bag of chips not so long ago. Obviously not..

| There you go everyone, even loonier81 is saying the 'establishment media' isn't biased against RL because the BBC have just spent more license-payers money on showing RL for the next 4/5 years.

Spending 3 bottle tops and a ring pull on RL doesn't prove nor disprove establishment bias against any sport.

Go on then. Tell me exactly how much the BBC has paid for non-exclusive rights to the Challenge Cup.

So when the biggest broadcaster in the establishment media not only spends money on RL (got any proof it's 3 bottle tops and a ring pull?) and will showcase it live and with highlights on their FTA TV and radio channels, you're claiming that it still doesn't prove that there isn't a bias against RL?.

| The poor old Beeb has broadcast the CC, including the Final live, since time immemorial and have signed up to a few years more of doing so. The coverage on Saturday was outstanding, and although sadly on the day HKR fell apart, there were many highlights and much class and ruthlessness on display from Leeds. The game also featured on all subsequent BBC national news broadcasts.
Just the basic facts, but they don't fit the nutty destroy-RL agendas very well, now do they, any more than using the post-Final publicity period to announce the deal for the next few years does.

Since someone quoted you and i've now unfortunately seen your post...
That's not what I said at all. Try spending less time logging in and out of your multiple accounts and more time reading people's posts and you might have a clue what's going on for once.
I'm pretty sure i've never said the Beeb are biased on here before but i'm saying it now. Saturday morning, the day of the challenge cup final, I saw maybe an hour of Breakfast TV. There was no mention of the challenge cup despite it being shown live later that day. There was an utterly pointless 5-10 minute feature by Mike Bushell on RU in schools though. Nice timing Mike. Why didn't Mike go spend some time with Leeds or Rovers instead?
I had the news channel on in the background on Sunday morning and didn't see any cup final highlights.... Biggest sporting event in the country last weekend, broadcast live on BBC One and not a sausage on their news channel the next day. Nope, no bias there is there?
Some at the Beeb obviously love RL and the support at the channel seems to be on the rise BUT many in power there clearly fear the sport and the bias is clear to see. Anyone who says otherwise is either thick as pig dirt, has their head in the sand or is just trolling for attention.

I find it hard to believe they fear RL. What I can believe is that parts of the organisation, including parts of the sports department, are largely unaware of it. Which is disgustingly complacent but nothing more sinister than that. The BBC's attitude seems, to me at least, a country mile from the likes of Stephen Jones in the Times. Now there's a man who makes no secret of his loathing.

Maybe the wrong word, maybe not but I'm sure there's plenty of Stephen Jones types at the BBC.

This.
Though I believe it is sinister in that it, along with other sectors of the "establishment" including politics and the media, deliberately ignore important events and issues when they don't fit with what they want to portray and further.
The vitriol and lies poured toward Jeremy Corbyn before he'd even entered the leadership contest, the ignoring of non-establishment heartland issues, the furtherance of certain ideas and ideals, the attempted criminalisation and demonisation of large sections of the working class, the plethora of public policy that benefits certain areas and types of people.
The point about the BBC is a valid one. The coverage itself with Chapman is great. The problem is the almost complete lack of build-up or post-game coverage, and I don't mean the immediate time pre or post-match, I mean in the days before and after. With most other major events you have discussions about the game on various BBC outlets, even if it's just a 15 second back & forth between 2 presenters. But that doesn't happen with RL events, despite being as popular and well attended as other events that do get that discussion.
It's that regular drip effect that really boosts a sport or public interest in something and it's something we are continually denied.
Now I don't believe it's some kind of anti-RL conspiracy, I believe it's a deeper issue in all aspects of the "establishment". Because the people running and producing things for the "establishment" be it media, policy etc haven't grown up where RL is important then it's continually ignored as a major sport.
This is partly RL's fault for not spreading the game and because we appeal to a generally relatively poor crowd base but it's still a complete and utter failure of those in the "establishment" to accurately reflect the popularity of a sport like RL and of other issues and events.
Immigration is another good example. Immigration doesn't affect those in the establishment except to provide cheaper cleaning staff. So the actual issues about immigration very rarely get mentioned.
It is sadly a societal issue rather than a direct conspiracy. Though I also refuse to believe it's a coincidence that England RU just happen to be playing in the RU World Cup, in the same city, on the same day just 20 mins after the Grand Final ends.

You (loonie81) may have blocked me but you have more than one account.
So because the BBC didn't mention RL at the same time you watched it but did mention RU, that means they (the BBC) 'fear' RL? Yeah, I bet they are terrified...
