| Quote: "It's very similar to what we see in the Premier League, where clubs get promoted and come back down straight away but they learn both on and more importantly off the field and become better and more capable as a result. The next time they go up they have a stronger chance of staying up but might still come down again before eventually staying up for a protracted period on their 3rd promotion.'"
Have you got any examples of this and if so over what period did they finally achieve safety in the top division?

| Bolton went up and failed badly the 1st and 2nd times. Went straight back down both times but rebuilt and went up again 3 seasons later and then stayed in the Premiership for 12 seasons.

I did watch the game live and my comment was made after seeing the incident. Even if it's accidental contact it's still contact with an official.'"
By that logic Tony Carroll should have been banned for life.

| Can't see Leigh beating Wakey they look like a side who've run out of steam, however one Championship side will still be 80 minutes from the Super League and I think the format works well enough for now.
As much as I can't stand Leigh I think it would be great to have them in the top flight.

Ahh It was just another one of your unproven theories. When I read it I thought it was poop.
Give me a clue where I should look..... Am I relatively hot when I say nowhere

| Two examples have already been given on this thread, there are others too. It's a perfectly reasonable point to make, and the comparison seems fair to me.

Don't waste your time, he's too lazy to look and too busy trying to be clever and failing

| Quote: MadDogg "Knew this would happen before long. It would be very naïve to expect the Championship clubs to be competitive straight away. The new system has the best chance of thriving after a few years as the Championship sides start to become accustomed to playing the Super League teams. Right now, it's pretty much a new experience for them.
A Championship team can still finish 5th, win one game and be in SL remember.'"
It's a racing certainty that a Championship club will finish 5th or higher, there are 4 of them in an 8 team league
Therefore there will either a Championship club promoted or, fighting it out in the "Million Pound" game

| The 4 ex SL clubs will be desperate now not to finish 4th, and Leigh & Bradford IMO have a straight fight to finish 5th for the one off game
Still an interesting league, albeit not as close as was hoped

| Quote: The Avenger "Wouldn't Leigh be swallowed up by Wigan!'"
Wigan would be fine on their own obviously, so Leigh would survive on the luck of where they're located, Salford and Oldham would still be clubs too, they would have a chance of promotion, but I've been so disappointed with Salford's crowds this yr. In future I would like Liverpool Buccaneers and Manchester Trojans have full-time teams.
Also I would like us to trial continuous live rucks. Maybe not with exactly the same laws as they have in RU, but something similar. But no to bringing back line-outs and contested scrums, in fact get rid of scrums altogether. And 1 point for a conversion instead of 2.
