Great effort from the fans of the Championship sides here, with 2,526 more fans in attendance than bothered with in the regular season. Salford back up the trend set by the SL sides with another pitiful crowd 700 or so below their seasons average if the nicely rounded figure of 3,400 is to be believed.

He threw one ball at the whole crowd?! Was it a really big ball that got everyone in one go, or did he keep retrieving it and throwing it at the heads of each Salford fan one by one until he'd 'incited' them all?

Spot on. As you said it's the fans who are responsible for their own behaviour. It'd be like condoning throwing things at a ref just because he made some poor decisions.

I don't understand people who get THAT wound up at games. Don't get me wrong I love live RL games, my friends always say the rest of the week I'm a boring sod but on a Friday night at the rugby I suddenly come alive, but I simply don't get how people can get so worked up to the point of invading the pitch (either to celebrate or have a go), fighting, throwing things etc.

I simply don't understand how fully grown adults can act like that just because of what happens in a game.

To be fair after watching the highlights, Miller does launch the ball directly into the crowd. Not the usual where a player throws it into the air into the crowd, he does properly it launch it directly at the fans. There was no need for it. A warning and a slap on the wrist should suffice.

That said doesn't excuse fans then throwing beer at him. Incidents like this are creeping into the game but the RFL are weak on it. Wakey I think had a suspended fine from last year against Widnes. Then thy had an incident against Castleford at the beginning of the season and again got a suspended fine. It needs nipping in the bud.

Not singelling out any club as they all have ther idiots! But the RFL need to start being tougher on crowd incidents.

Miller did well to actually find a fan on the terrace to hit.
