Think the main point of this thread is that it was sorted. Then the developer back-tracked and Wakefield MDC conveniently looked the other way.

Quite right and someone within WTW didn't read the small print.

The delivery of the S106 is the responsibility of WMDC led by Mr Box (you may be familiar with him). He represents the people of Wakefield and he is failing in his duty. Why are the facilities promised to the people of Wakefield failing to materialise, but the area is being developed?

Because the all-powerful Wakefield Trinity R.L.F.C, failed to read the small print apparently .

If they had noticed the scurrilous actions of the developer they could have informed the Council who would have immediately intervened & saved the day, wouldn’t they?

If I remember correctly wasn't playing at Oakwell Barnsley the way forward?

Have to say some of the gleeful, gloating sentiment coming from some on here is depressing. Very real possibility of one of the founding members of Rugby League going down the pan due to the stadium issues (and several decade of poor management)

Wakefield as a city left without a professional sports team of any kind with some of the worst sporting provisions in the UK.

Nothing to be gleeful about IMO.

Yes, but it also states a bit you failed to include, for whatever reason.

I was under the impression that the 60,000sqm was the trigger point, I didn't realise that only units above 60,000sqm counted towards the stadium .

If that is the case then produce some minutes or documentation to prove this. Do you honestly think if people had been aware of this they would not have kicked up a stink. Also how were the local public, you know the residents and Wakefield inhabitants informed of this decision to exclude from the S106? Do they not matter too?

We are not asking the council for a stadium, just for them to enforce their own planning regulations on a developer who is trying to wriggle out of their responsibilities and agreements.
