Wrong! Hock has proven himself uncontrollable so what makes you think he'd be anything more than an expensive troublemaker/penalty machine/ suspension addict at Broncos? He is a thug first and a mediocre rugby player a distant second.

The irony being that he has the skills to be a top notch rugby player. His mediocrity is a direct consequence of his failings.

Am I really? "mediocre"? 2003 Young player of the Year, 9 seasons at Wigan, yep no where near as good as Ray Nasso, Josh Cordoba, Daniel Harrison, Rhys Lovegrove, Nick Slyney, Matt Garside and the rest of our current forwards.

Still, I doubt we'll agree on this or a great many other things, but in my opinion, London are one of a few teams Hock would improve.

no,he's damaged goods, you take a chance on him, he'll get himself suspended, heed the warnings that salford failed to do so and dont' subject yourself to the result of Wigan never EVER forcing him to grow up.

As Hock has left before serving any suspension, will any teams signing him see him sat on the sidelines for the fist 6 games of his contract?

Hock most definitely is not an mediocre player. I think he's one of the most destructive strike players to play in Super League. Unfortunately he also has a very strong self destructive streak.
He's been given plenty of chances and lots of support at Wigan and Salford. He seemed to calm down at Widnes but I never saw him have particularly good game for them (didn't see that many to be fair). At times last season he was unplayable and he and Sau terrorised some defences playing down our left.
Seems to me the RL community needs to show its fabled strong side and give him plenty of support whatever he chooses to do next. He doesn't need on line abuse, he needs help to handle his demons and either make a go of it at a new club or adjust to life after RL

Unfortunately Gareth Hock is a liability. Even Salford couldn’t afford to continue carrying him, despite the fact our owner has made no secret of the amount of money he is willing to spend to improve the club. With the salary cap as tight as it is, you just can’t have a player earning £100k+ a year spending half the season on the sidelines through his own stupidity.

Reading the comments from other clubs fans (particularly those in Leigh) it reminds me very much of what we were saying when he signed for Salford. Despite the comments from Wigan and Widnes fans we thought Hock would mature and play his best RL with us. How naïve.

He’s the weak link to any team he plays for due to his inability to remain focused and composed for 80 minutes during a game. If he does end up in the Championship, he will make opposition coaches team talks much easier – he’s a ticking time bomb. Get into him from the off and just sit back and wait for the imminent brain fart.

Exactly what happened when you played us at the Hive last year.

On a good day, I would agree. The trouble is he seems to have less and less good days as he gets older.

I can go back and edit the reference to Sau if you like, but as the thread is called "Hock" I thought it was obvious enough who we were discussing.
If being involved in tries is the only thing by which we measure players then clearly most props in the competition don't do anything, though I'd like to see a team play without them.

The point I was making was that Hock absolutely tore into us up the middle last year, but also got himself binned for being a thug. Which is the general thrust of the thread to be honest.

If he's been de-registered by Salford does his 6 match ban still apply, or will it only comeinto force when he signs for another club and is re-registered?
As has been said maybe some club will sign him with a 6 week exclusion clause.
Interesting to see who, if anyone, will take a risk with him.

This could be interesting. I hope it works out, but if it doesn't then I hope we have cast-iron get out clauses.
