| He may just be proving he is the sporting equal of SBW. And could change codes depending on which World cup is up next.
Also agreeing with the marketing on offer from RWC2015. Billboards & adverts everywhere in Bradford. Still 1 year to go. Quick look on the website shows that the initial ticket application closes in 2weeks or so. So that explains the advertising rush.

| Quote gutterfax="gutterfax"richmond were the first pro union club in britain and were bust within 3 years......in the following 15 years wasps, sale and a few others have had their owners grumble loudly about expense, yet they are all still there, throwing cash after more cash into black holes......god knows why.
If Nigel wray were to let wasps fold, I can assure you the game wouldn't 'fold" as per your prediction......Union is inherently wealthy from the ground up, with most clubs owning their own grounds or having long term deals that suit them. The international game is a mammoth and even compares favourably with wendyball when it comes to attendances.....sponsor flock to be associated with it and next year they will shift a fair few white shirts with roses on them.....just because you WANT them to fold doesn't mean they will. They have a TV deal that is managed well, a European comp that is popular and even the piddly little unions like scotland managed to turn over more than the RFL....wanting them to fail is fine, but predicting based on your hatred of the game is a pointless.'"
Don't follow union closely but did read a bit about the upping of their SC when it first made the papers. A couple of their journos reckon there's perhaps three premiership clubs capable of spending to the new level. So, if that's true I think you're right: I doubt any clubs will go bust as a result as it sounds like most won't be shelling out.

I'm sure the one off experience of all those people watching on TV will be outstanding for him, then he can go back to the drudgery of weekly union club football at a hovel in a little town.

The irony of someone from a country that gets its culture from a yoghurt pot slagging off bath is quite humerous.
Hes on more cash and will be seen and known by more people..........your opinion doesnt marry well with FACT in this instance.

| I now watch it infrequently because of all of the above, I am irritated by Rod Studds smirking and condescending quips which he obviously thinks are humorous.
Studds lack of knowledge is startling and he is a prime example of the 'boys club' that operates within the SKY team. It seems that once in its harder to get out and a job for life is a given. Shaun McRae was another example of this, if he came back to the UK tomorrow Eddie would be straight onto him and Neville and McRae would be back on the team before he touched down at Heathrow.
Time for a revamp of the show, which is a good format hampered by those presenting it, and time for a clear out of the commentators with Carney, Wells, Clarke surviving while Barry Mac, ToC, Kear, Cullen, Arthur and especially Hemmings, Stephenson and Studd being punted.

I'd ditch Clarke too, otherwise agree 100%. Cummings I'd probably keep although were the others replaced by sentient beings there'd probably be no need for him.

| As I said. More money and better known......and playing to 60,000 empty seats at anz is what he currently gets.......doubt twickenham has ever been that sply populated. 4,500,000+ tv audience for the 6 nations, rwc seen by millions around the world and did I mention, MORE MONEY?
More australians will know who he is after the world cup

He'll be on more money. Fan base is questionable, you can't start comparing union internationals to NRL's lowest attendances. Sam burgess is a huge name over there. Let's be honest the England union team are only really known at moment for the 2011 WC. They not exactly back page material. Jonny Wilkinsons, Matt Dawsons are gone.
If he makes it in the England WC yes he will be playing in front of bigger crowds. But he'll be touching the ball twice a game if lucky. And he'll come back to league a worse player like normally happens. But hey, more money...
