The VR debacle needs to go the way of the margin meter - but quicker; watching two old blokes faffing about with a touch screen telly - in split screen - on the telly, was excruciating. Time for a rethink!

As for Eddie and Stevo - same sh.it, different season; the Sky producer has got to get the message out there - it's time to utilize something different.

I thought they mixed up the commentary a lot more in that game. All 4 had some input into the game.

I thought the best quote of the day was Stevo saying " Sarginson has been showing some form" 13 minutes into the match.

Form 13 minutes into the first match of the season. I'd need at least 4 - 5 games before I could call it form.

But honestly it did not bother me at all. If it did, I'd turn it off rather than listen to it. I liked the video ref bit. Needs more of a polish to it, no need to show us the 2 fella's in full screen, they could show the replays in a large screen with them 2 in a corner screen. I did like the announcement to the crowd, more NFL like. I'd expect some not to like it, but some people don't like that there are no unlimited tackles.

It's not going to make or break the game, but it's a nice extra.

They should also show a shot of a random "fan of the week" sat in his armchair shouting "F*** Off, nowhere near a F******* try that!!".

That's exactly what we do.
Not just them but most commentaries in most sport!
The world cup on Premier was an exception. I actually enjoyed that.
Have to say I like the idea of the VR

Even my wife is stating to play Stevo bingo, & she don't watch that much. I can put up with Eddie but it would be nice to have another commentator to mix up the styles. If we could only get someone in the mould of Dan Maskel who did the tennis years ago, hardly said anything except when needed, He said its TV, the audience can see just as good as I can he just added the odd insight to put the bit of play into context. maybe with clubs doing their own TV online we might unearth a hidden gem in the commentary field.

Just enjoyed the match.

As someone has alluded to, some of Vossy's ' commentary eccentricities', would perhaps, become irritating over a period of time

I thought Clarkey came out with a good one last night when Broughy kicked out on the full and Clarkey said "why would you go for a forty-twenty?". Really phil, really!!! Sometimes it's hard to believe this bloke played the game.

I kind of agreed with Phil there. Hudds didn't need that play with the lead they had. Could have kicked deep and made Wigan return from their own 10, or put into touch down field and again made them return from deep.

I pointed out during the World Cup that if Stevo's voice was dubbed over an Andrew Voss commentary, there would be the usual ad nauseam rant on here.

I was sat in the pub with a mate, so despite the sound being on loud enough I couldn't tell you a thing that was said as I was chatting myself. People just sit looking for things to moan about, sad really.
