I never bothered to read the details of how it is going to work because the general concept of its completely stupid, I just read the mechanics of it on sky sports. like i said its over complicated.

| this new format is no more complicated than some of the silly playoff systems SL has used over the years to determined the winners

Exciting times for Rugby league'"
You know how people moaned and moaned and moaned that RL wasn’t exciting before when the team in 5th could win it. They argued it made the rest of the league ‘pointless’ we were told, 27 friendlies apparently.
Im looking forward to seeing what they have to say when the team that finished 9th gets relegated to the championship despite earning more points throughout the 29 game season than at least 3 other sides. That will be a funny one.

i have no idea how the format is going to work but it just seems very over complicated and some that has come across as rash decision to some how entice new fans when it wont.'"
Given that several clubs reliant on RFL advances voted for the 3x8 model and these clubs are odds on to be relegated in 2014 we could then move to a SL with 6 against and 5 for the new arrangement.

| Quote: Saint Simon "media.therfl.co.uk/docs/Policy%20Review%20-%20September%202013.pdf
its all explained there.
Its pretty simple really, SL drops to 12 teams, play each other home and away once plus magic weekend.
Top 8 playoff as now.
The rest of the championship and bottom of superleague are also left with something to play for after the regular season ends'"
Top eight playoff isn't as it is now. Top eight play each other once, with points from first 23 games carried over too. At end of that series of games 1st plays 4th, 2nd v 3rd with winners of those games playing in grand final.

In what way exciting. The same 8 teams been apart d SL every year. The top 8 teams playing each other in SL1
= bigger attendances = larger revenue = bugger wages.
Bottom 4 of SL full time professional clubs then destroy part time clubs such as Halifax/Fev/Sheffield who operate on a fraction of the salary and are part time.
The top 4 of the middle tier then easily win promotion, but have taken a financial hit having to play games in front of 2k crowds at the championship grounds while still trying to operate a full time club. They then have to compete against teams who played in front of 5 crowds for half the previous season.
I can't wait!!!
7-6 vote, a major restructure and the clubs are against it. Brilliant...

They shouldn’t have made such a big change on such a slim majority.
If ever you wanted to set up a system to fail, you would do it by rushing it through with a decent level of opposition.

Well if they're that good they will have no problem retaining their place in Sl the next season will they. If they fail to come in the top 4 of a league containing the 3 lower places SL teams and 4 championship teams then they cant really have any complaints can they.
and at least if they do retain their place the fans of that team will have seen them win a few more games and a bit of excitment they wouldn't normally get for a team finishing 9th

| Terrible decision. especially for a Widnes fan, Wakefield, Castleford etc. We are never going to advance. If we survive the cut this year I'm definitely not getting a season ticket next year knowing we will odds on be playing Leigh , Sheffield and Fev for the latter stages. Ridiculous

I meant its just a variation of a playoff system. Its better as it makes it even harder to win SL from 5 - 8. The emphasis will be on getting safely in the top 4, meaning all league games will have more value

I think Bull Mania scenario is hell of a lot more realistic than your scenario. I get that you excited because for the first time in 6 years you have a genuine chance of playing to flight rugby but this system is a stupid way of doing it.

Theres not much excitement in the first 22 rounds, if your entire season is designed to be decided entirely by the last 7. And yes, they could have plenty of complaints, they could have earned more points throughout the season than teams which weren’t relegated. The team the does get promoted doesn’t necessarily even need to be the promoted team with the most points.
The team who finished 9th could have been in 8th with two rounds to go, suffer a massive injury list and end up relegated.

The regular season will be 22 games instead of 26 (plus magic) as now. That is what the season ticket will cover. Why are people finding this so hard to understand??
