Since when was hooker distribution all about speed? The 9 should also step out & in from AHB and hold the ball up to attract the markers and hopefully A & B defenders before distributing to his receiver. A lightning fast ball has its place but there's far more to it.
FWIW I think Roby has been the more effective player, but all this "Micky Mac is slow" talk is absolute crap.
This is a stunningly depressing thread. England haven't been outstanding but they're winning comfortably and haven't looked troubled since that dodgy first few minutes.
And yes, Klein can shove that whistle where the sun don't shine.

honestly ed off i have stayed up to watch this when i have work at 7 in the morning and its 4 hours in front. not one single english player looks to be interested in this game. apart from a sean oloughlin tackle nothing has happened.

France have targetted Watkins all night and he looks shaky. I assume NZ will now do the same with possibly bad consequences for us. Maybe Ablett instead?
Sam Tomkins has so far missed one high ball (out of one) and one low kick (out of one).
So, to me NZ will target our centres - esp. Watkins - and full back.

Drawing the markers? He should be taking the markers out with his passing, not stepping and drawing them in then passing. There's something called a defensive line moving up while he's doing all that.
He offered nothing in his stint apart from bouncing off tackles. Hope to god Mcnamara plays Burrow next week as he could frighten the Kiwis, Mcllorum's aggression won't bother them, it could hurt Englad if he starts to lose his cool though. |
