I dont have an explanation, cant remember a worse call. Does Eden have to touch it to play Green on or is a play and a miss enough? If so its not a rule I've ever heard before but there is no other justifiable answer. Either that or he hit the wrong button.

I wish. He looked at the grounding beforehand so it's completely beyond me.
All I can think of is that he just assumed Eden played at the ball and didn't even think to check a better angle for whether he did. As it turns out there are lovely angles showing Eden pulled out early and was nowhere near the ball... |

The one thing out of this that I don't get is people saying that the penalty would be from where the ball was kicked. Of Greene was ruled to be offside, surely the penalty would be from where Greene touched the ball? Or am I wrong?

absolutely shocking terrible decision,i, like most cannot find anything to suggest that was a try.
even Cullen in commentary said we may as well forget having rules.ganson has totally ignored the rules of a game for whatever reason.
I hate this word but the only one I can use at the moment is cheat! ganson, IMO has cheated today.
no way did hull deserve anything from that. feel sorry for rovers.

I agree it was a ridiculous decision but can we be careful of what we accuse people of please? Not in the grounds of good taste you understand. It was indeed a bewildering, stupid decision which tarnished a great contest.
