| FWIW, the club are the ones that may be in trouble, not the interchange official.
As a trainer, I have to let the IC official know we are going to make a change, the player is given a card by us with the number of his interchange. The player walks down the sideline with the IC official and when the player coming off is seen by the IC to be off the pitch he will take the card from the ongoing player and hold it up to the crowd.
I cannot understand how a player got on unless the club's sideline staff did not inform the IC official.
In the NRL, you can acutally be fined if you throw the card at the IC official and also, you MUST put it in their hand. I've seen players called back off the pitch to be told to picked up a dropped card and place it in their hand.

the use of " " was a clue to me making a tongue in cheek comment.I have repeatedly said that Salford have my best wishes for the future, but some of the predictions of "world domination" coming from sections of your support on here are well worth reeling in with some realism.

they actually reported it to the match commissioner straight after the game
and Salford have now been charged

rlSaints fined over 14-men incidentrl
Quote: Hughies sister "08 Jun 06 | Super League -An RFL investigation found that the club fielded the extra player for no longer than 40 seconds.
They added that there were mitigating circumstances and that St Helens had sought to rectify the situation.
The Knowsley Road club admitted the breach of rules and has taken steps to avoid any similar incidents in the future
St Helens coach Daniel Anderson claimed that the blame for the mix-up lay with the interchange official, rather than any of his coaching team.

| Wigan Wire game in 70's when two balls ended up on pitch and the Pie Eaters picked up the wrong ball when both balls were bouncing around in open play and scored and the ref allowed it.
Or did I dream it ?

Didn't Lee Jackson do that in his last game for Leeds or something? Picked up a spare ball when given a penalty and put up his shirt, took a quick tap with it and score? Something like that?

Yes, and got away with it too! Although thought it was for Hull and against Leeds

| Shane Cooper did something similar for Saints v Widnes many moons Bach. He picked up a 2nd ball when defending and dropped it when going into a tackle - Saints got the head & feed!

It was for Hull against Leeds. Hid the ball behind his back, tapped it and scored. The quick tap rule was changed shortly afterwards.
