Have you or your friends actually ever visited Manchester properly and seen what it has to offer?

Why would you have to use any holiday allocation for a weekend? From Castleford you can travel to Manchester much quicker than travelling to Cardiff or Edinburgh, so you don't need to take Friday and/or Monday off.

And the Monday is apparently going to be a Bank Holiday anyway?

| Quote: Chorlton RL "Its not up to City, the council own the ground. City wouldn't be happy if the matches were held during their season, but Feb is too cold to hold that sort of event in a stadium with no roof. May, after the soccer season, is a better time.
Plus, why wouldn't the council be up for it? They could potentially make more out of this then United do out of the Grand Final. There could be in excess of 40k fans on both days and the stadium would be open all day, both days, meaning an awful lot of beer and burgers can be sold. It also means the council have a good photo opp for New Islington, the regenerated area of Ancoats on the way to the stadium.'"
City lease the stadium and part of the conditions are that they are the ones that have the final say on whether to allow it or not. The council leave all decisions on concerts and special occasions to the club.
Fact is that City need the cash to help comply with the UEFA financial fair play regulations and the pitch will be relayed the following week anyway so why not?

I work with people with learning disabilities that need just as much support on the weekends as on a weekday. Its hard for me to attend home games.

| No one will stay over and make a weekend of it, and so why not have it in Manchester on Saturday for the Lancashire clubs and Catalan, and Elland Road on Sunday for the Yorkshire clubs and Quins.

| Why do RFL always need to keep changing stuff - madness!!!
MM starts in Cardiff (great city - great venue anytime of year) - so then RFL move to Edinburgh (great city - poor venue in early May) - so back to Cardiff in Feb - fair enough and for all those bothered to go a great weekend away.
We are stupid if we think playing MW in Manchester or Leeds will do owt for the growth of the game I live close to LUFC ground and can easily get to MCFC on train - but will be really disappointed as enjoy trips to Cardiff much more.
Took kids to Mancland last Mon and not a curry hole to be found anywhere in city centre - totally unacceptable venue if you ask me
What ambitions have RFL got planned next to spread the RL gospel - Challenge Cup Final in Leigh on a Wed night restricted to SL ST Holders only subject to proof of third generation support maybe

| Quote: Iain "Is about 3.5 million people enough?
And i'm sure they all had there own reasons to go, i have had reasons to visit Manchester before and i haven't enjoyed it, some people will have liked it but i doubt it would be in many peoples top 5 cities to visit in the uk. Whats more it hardly compares to the south of France where i will be going instead. I cant go to every showpiece event at the moment, i have to pick and choose and manchester has stopped men and my mates wanting to go to the magic weekend as we want to see cas play catalans away instead.

Quote: devoniangiant "Indian Restaurants in Manchester
For a city once known as 'Cottonopolis' it's not surprising that there's many Indian restaurants in Manchester and the surrounding mill towns.
Whilst the bright neon lit Rusholme, or 'The Curry Mile' as it is better known, is celebrated as being the biggest collection of curry houses in the whole of Europe, the city centre itself also boasts some of the best Indian restaurants in Manchester.
