We need to shove RLWC13 and the sport in general in peoples faces, whether it be through social media or any other methods. The media need to give it the attention it deserves and the public, everybody needs to know about it. Christ I'll even resort to trolling if I have to.

I think Old Trafford is the right choice, I am looking forward to the double header at Wembley too. Will many amateur clubs across the country be getting discounts/freebies?

All fixtures need to be confirmed and then tickets put on sale. It may be minimal but a steady sale of tickets between now and November 30th would provide a base for attendances. Stands outside each and every Super League (and maybe Championship, Championship 1 games) for the rest of the season. A highly visible tent with prizes and promotions, selling WC tickets at the Super Leaguen Grand Final at Old Trafford. Each and every club in Britain, Ireland and France should be contacted and told they'll be rewarded accordingly based on the number of tickets they can sell. With 365 days to go till the final there be should be a big event to publicise the fact that there's a year till the sport's international showpiece. Those are just a few immediate ideas as I'm on a 40 minute dinner-break, but there are so many possibilities with this.

500 days till the 2013 Rugby League World Cup and hardly a peep from the RFL. it would have been nice to see at least a mention on Sky's State of Origin coverage, maybe a celebratory lunch with the mayors of the host cities, chairmen of the clubs and national newspaper sports editors. Opportunity missed or am I making too much of this?

Me too, but I was hoping for something a little more visual or significant than an e-mail.

I think it's pretty pointless whilst the Euros are on. Make a big fanfare in October - one year to go to the World Cup and you can buy your tickets now makes sense to me.

The England Academy get an Australia tour with two warm-up games and two Tests. Why not the senior England squad with the World Cup only a year away? I know the ARL said they were giving their players the year off, I'm sure something could have been arranged with the NZRL, PNG and the Pacific nations. We might have even been able to get games against Australia A.

So after 12 years and 48 caps Jamie Peacock retires from international rugby league.
Don't understand some of the comments I've read tonight knocking the fact that this was billed as a major announcement. Peacock shouldn't be in the team on form alone, but this is a bloke who's represented his country almost 50 times over 12 years. If this was soccer no one would bat an eyelid. In fact SSN would probably be showing career highlights videos till the weekend. I'd hope fans will still be full of plaudits for Peacock, but I've got a nasty feeling a number will use this as a way to knock the RFL and the sport.

My biggest fear is that McNamara will give the captaincy to Sinfield, thus giving him a guaranteed place in the England 13 for years to come. For me Sinfield's a jack of all trades and master of none when it comes to England. Roby's been quiet by his standards this year but he's got to be in with a shout. Sean O'Loughlin isn't vocal enough for me but he's our best loose forward and no, I haven't got my cherry and white glasses on.

Looks like they've actually used common sense this time. Now for stands at all grounds on match days selling tickets.

Scotland will play Tonga and Italy at Derwent Park, home of Workington Town. These games were originally slated for Whitehaven.
Allerdale Borough Council and Britain's Energy Coast are putting £450,000 in to Derwent Park to prepare it for World Cup 2013.
