"It's a dream of mine since I was a little kid. If I play well [in Leeds] I might get a crack."
Ridiculous.

| So maybe with a number of Antipodeans playing for England via the residence clause we may even win the Four Nations, or even the World Cup.
What a hollow victory that would be.

| Like most, I'm shocked, saddened and appauled that our Country has resorted to this. So what if RU and Cricket do it, RU play with a lighter ball which makes kicking easier should we do that too??
To play for England you should at least have English parents, then at least you would have some feeling for the country.
If Rangi had an offer from both NZ and Eng which would he have chosen? I know the answer he'd have given before realising he's actually just not THAT good.
As for Danny Brough, he was born in England so fair enough but with the World Cup coming up he should have been encouraged to play for Scotland so to boost their chances of competing.
By the way Michael Dobson has been here 3 years shall we partner him with Chase?

| The sad thing is, I'm not even surprised.
No wonder McNamara was so keen for the Exiles game to happen, it's being used as a shoot-out for an "England" place.

That article says it all really.
As much as i rate Rangi he's a New Zealander and the decision to put him in just when we look like we've got some half back options for the first time in a while is really disappointing.

Do you think the English cricket fans felt that the victory over the Aussies in the ashes was hollow?

| If he feel England is his home then we should welcome him into the England squad. Nobody on here knows how genuine his words are so we can only accept that he's speaking from the heart. He's stated he's felt more at home here then anywhere else in the world is spouse is English and in turn if the relationship progresses his children will then be a also English .
That was enough for me to think yeah if he's genuine let him play for our country. And if it helps International Rugby League at the same time brilliant.

Read it before saying that mate! He doesn't see himself as English he has always wanted to play for NZ but because he's not good enough he wants to play for England. Simply put he is a Kiwi

| I don't see the problem. Australia have been picking South Sea Islanders and Kiwis for years. If you can't beat um, join um!

| Frankly, I think it's pathetic. Countries aren't clubs, you can't just switch around. He's played for the NZ Maori and the Exiles in the past year, too. RFL and international RL looks a joke, this just undermines any credibility our sport had.

I've read it Nick. Peoples views and circumstances change. If they live in this country contribute to this country they then should be able to represent this country. Especially if they feel this is home.
