I'm not interested in entities like England or Exiles.
Neither are countries.

Bear in mind, 'Colleges' will include sixth forms and any other form of non university 'further education' establishment. there are over a dozen of those with rugby league teams within 10 miles of widnes alone. they are still mostly concentrated in the north.
also bear in mind that the majority of universities do not in fact have rugby league teams. universities are still very rugby union dominated on the whole.

Around half the universities have an RL side. The link below shows the set up for last season's leagues.

After the Super 8 though i'd say the quality drops off a fair bit. Still a decent standard in the league below and teams dotted about, but at the bottom i'd say it's pretty dire.

Still no response to the question on reps players playing for Uni. Bodyswerve!!! How many of your losing team have played rep footy?'"
So you post an irrelevent fact because you don't know what you're on about and then keep banging on about whether any of them played junior reps. Who gives a toss and to be frank I wouldn't have a clue. On the whole junior rep players are a bunch of nobodies unless they make the under 20s or NRL. You do realise the junior reps are essentially only Sydney-based players don't you? Actually on available evidence I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't. The GB side regularly has players who are signed to professional RL clubs in the north. For example the 2001 side featured Aled James, Richie Barnett, Jermaine Coleman and about half a dozen other blokes who were playing semi-professionally in England. In the Aussie side there was a couple of Brisbane A graders and that's about it. The side was essentially an amateur one. If players are pro players in Australia they're not going to be playing uni footy in the middle of the season. They'll be playing for their clubs.

So what Costanza? There isn't a single TAFE RL team in the country and not one TAFE student has ever or will ever play rep uni football. I know this from experience. You don't know anything because you're an ignorant, juvenile hack who will make up any old crap about Australian RL because you have a massive chip on your shoulder. You didn't even know what TAFE was and now you're trying to argue with someone who actually knows about the game here from 10,000 miles away in the cave where you live.

Nice view of your future first graders. Hope no-one said that you were a nobody when you were a kid.
Quote: ECT "Actually on available evidence I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't.'"
Now now, no need.
Quote: ECT "The GB side regularly has players who are signed to professional RL clubs in the north. In the Aussie side there was a couple of Brisbane A graders and that's about it.'"
Can you show us a team list please. I haven't seen one.
Quote: ECT " If players are pro players in Australia they're not going to be playing uni footy in the middle of the season. They'll be playing for their clubs.'"
Fair call. However, anyone that receives some money for playing a game is a professional. Including the Brisbane A graders you yourself mentioned. Wouldn't they get paid for A grade. If so they are professional even if they didn't get paid by the Unis.
I know you're a smart bloke ECT, I know you love your footy, I know you are very knowledgeable about footy, I agree with you on several things, but blimey fella. All of this because you could not bring yourself to say, well done GB, you beat us for the first time ever. Instead you went off on an excuse tangent as to why this awful occurence could possibly have happened.

| Congratulate you? Did you play? That's what I don't get on this site, people post as if they're talking directly to the people involved in the game. They don't read this stuff people, get over yourselves.
And as for junior reps, they're not future first graders for the most part. And if they don't make firts grade they are nobodies. I couldn't tell you how many AURL reps were junior reps because I don't know. What I do know is it's irrelevant. Junior reps aren't even the best players in the country. They are the best players in the Sydney, Newcastle, Illawarra areas and that's about it. The best CRL and QRL players aren't involved.

There's a difference in attitude. I applaud Australia when they beat any of our teams in RL. It appears that maybe you can't. I'll leave it there. Enjoy the thread.

| I would like England to win this years Four Nations in a nail biter against Oz with no dodgy referees or bad decisions.
It would be a shot in the Arm for the game.

i'll expect your dummy you've spat out to land at heathrow sometime later today.....
i doubt anyone outside of australia would know what a TAFE is.......and i certainly was'nt embarrassed to ask lol....
and give me 1...just 1 example of something i've 'made up' about australian RL....you won't cos you can't..
yet you make up crap and rules all the time...you're known for it on every board you post on...then when you get pulled up for it you start chucking ignorant/rasict/bigotry slurs about.....like you have done again here
like i said to you before...you're like a punch drunk boxer getting battered by everyone in every argument you have......time to retire kermit

And there you have the biggest problem on this site.
I wish I had a pound for every post I've read written by people who claim to have 'insider information' or 'work in the game' or 'know someone who knows someone who works in the game' or 'lives in Australia'
Its quite sad really. I really should ignore a lot of people on here. But it's hilarious reading some of the incredible waffle that gets posted by certain people who I won't bother naming. You know who you are!
Long may you continue. RLFans would be boring without you!

You don't congratulate anyone. You post on an internet forum. No one you are "congratulating" reads what you write so what's the point? Why do people on here feel the need to post as if they're talking to the actual people involved and not a bunch of other nuffies on an internet forum?

| You can hardly blame the GB students because of a shortage of "university students" in oz. You can only play who and what is in front of you. To coin a phrase, a wins a win. Well done GB.

speaking from personal experience aswell, most if not all of the teams at welsh universities are very recent occurences, aberystwyth spat on rugby league when i went there.

Thats because it's in Wales and as we all know, RL in Wales is about as popular as it is in London. Union is the ONLY game of Rugby that counts in Wales.
Yet despite all the evidence pointing out this fact (the failure of Celtic Crusaders in Bridgend, the poor crowds at Wrexham etc etc) people don't seem to understand.
