How many from the WR area have signed? It's alright for those who don't live nearby and whose lives wouldn't be made a misery by the building of a supermarket but I'd wager many of them would be the first to kickup a fuss if one was going to be built next to their homes.

Presumably you will welcome potential new jobs at Newmarket then. A lot of Castleford people will benefit from such a development, especially the people that have lost and will lose jobs in Cas town centre due to out of town developments!

Fair dos, but how many are actually from Cas? I'd be p'd off if the council gave planning permission for a supermarket to be built next to my house because 10000 people form outside the town had signed to say they wanted it.

Obviously it's hard to take into consideration just the local electorate in this instance as Castleford fans from outside the area (Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Hull, Lancashire, London) are going to sign it and it would be unfair to sideline them when they have a specific interest in this. IMO, anyway.

I won't be signing this petition. I feel strongly that Castleford already has enough supermarkets.
