| RL fans are there own worst enemy. RU or lots of other sports would love a similar concept and fully support it. RL is a very town based sport located within a number of black spots in the UK supported by some fans with a village mentality. Controversial I will accept.
A day out a Wembley for the CC final with the kids is the family holiday this year!
Quins RU-70000 for a nothing game at Xmas. RL 24000 for a festival of RL.
A great concept just the wrong sport.

| Typical RL fans on show again.
"We need to make the matches big events like Union do"
then
"It's just an event not a proper fixture, I'm not going. Plus it will be cold in that city with higher average February temperatures and less rain than where I live - where they have a roof they can close and undersoil heating - it makes much more sense to play it up north somewhere. Not that it matters to me because I would probably only have watched the games in the pub anyway, £35 is a bit steep for seven SL matches over 2 days."
I literally can't wait for Cardiff, and I pity the joyless miseries who would rather snipe than get behind the sport - they're missing out.

| its a great idea. Although maybe not the best week to have it on. I did like the bank holiday weekend so that I could stay over and not have to take a day off work.
Its a shame that a large amount of the fans that turn up for the event dont hang around for other games but simply turn up for their team and then spend the rest of the event outside the city arms singing.
it seems that this year the lower tier is almost sold out but the upper tier has been closed.
I hope but I doubt that the marketing has been done in Wales to get people in Wales to go to this event.
For those RU events in London you see nothing but marketing for these.

| Perhaps if the weekend could encompass the whole of the Rugby League fraternity and not just SL clubs it might be more of an 'event'.
Depending on where it is in the calendar maybe bring in the Northern Rail Cup Final and / or amateur 7's comp.
As it stands it just seems to be a 'concept' that has never developed properly.

Spot on pal
Counting the days down, the last 2 in Cardiff were brilliant weekends.

Al I will tell you is that I used to live in Wales. I'm not Welsh. I do know the country very well however.
Actually I do like South Wales. Just not all of it.
I don't hate Cardiff either. Cardiff is great. However Cardiff City centre at the weekend on 'Rugby day' when Cardiff City have been playing is not a pleasant place to be.'"
Given you won't do the former, it's clear you are partaking in the latter.

Exactly!
I am gutted to be missing this seasons event but think the idea of it is great and the weekend is fantastic.

Well said that man!!
Personally cant wait to get my fix of RL again. Not too sure how long the RFL will continue with it though! Is the move back to Cardiff part of a 2 year deal?

| Quote: AdmiralHanson "1 - I defy most fans to sit and watch seven games back to back .... (albeit over 2 days, but you still get the idea)
2 - Given the parochial nature of the sport, most fans of teams hate the other teams playing and most of them don't want to sit around watching teams they hate for the sake of it.
3 - Despite the fact the games are being held 200+ miles away, they're still charging average ticket prices (let's assume you don't want to bother watching someone other than your own team)
4 - It is a miserable place to get to on public transport, especially from Yorkshire and the RFL soon cancelled the idea of the special train when they found the lines being dug up ... So, either go and stay (and be ripped off by hoteliers), spend 6 hours on a coach in each direction or drive and stay sober.
Just a few of the reasons why several long-standing RL fans and myself won't be going ...'"
have you ever thought about Going on the Jeremy Kyle show to bare your soul because here is not the place to do it.
OK , so you are a boring, miserable, tight, parochial inbred who has no interest in RL outside of your small geographic location.
Despite that MM is an absolutely superb idea for all RL fans. IMHO it is much better atmosphere than either the CC or Grand Final as the people who go there are true RL fans not people like you.

| Has anyone actually been to the stadium in winter when the roof is closed? Just wondered how many layers of clothing I'll need to last 6 hours.

| Much to my wifes' annoyance I will watch the Millenium magic on the box, in HD with full atmospheric surround sound.
I anticipate a great deal of excellent Rugby League, some out and out "professionalism" by players, some bizzare match official decisions, knock ons, dropped ball, missed passes, mistimed passes etc., etc..
In other words normal Rugby League.
That weekend I just won't get to see the local amateurs play, but it's only a one off.

No but i will say the weather is weird down here at the mo. Some days sunny and actually pretty warm, then the temp drops like a bugger. Unpredictable.
