| Quote: mmp "I saw both at the ground and they were not wearing club colours...attending the Grand Final on the day Wigan won the Championship, at the ground which is there place of work, hardly means they are 'Wigan fans'.
Giggs has done interviews on how much he enjoys rugby league, the fact his dad played for Swinton and the fact that he played as a kid for Langworthy was reputedly being looked at to play representative rugby. I don't ever recall him saying he was a fan of any club although he talks of following Swinton home and away as a kid in various interviews - more a case of him choosing football at 13/14 and losing regular interest.
It's the sfact that many prominent people might reference some liking of a rugby league side at some point but it doesnt make them fans...anyone seen Andrew Marr at Widness for example? I stumbled on a piece in the Telegraph a few years ago when he spoke of prefering rugby league to football and his in-laws love of Widnes. Doubt he's given it a second thought since!'"
Don't be grumpy Mike. A lot of the United lads used to go to Central Park back in the day - I'm talking early/mid 90s when Giggs & Scholes were starting out, and they definitely used to go with a few other United lads, fans or not. Seem to recall Keane going as well - I had a chat with him and Irwin at an Airtours cabin crew Xmas party in roughly 1995 (the boys turned up at the best dos), and Roy mentioned watching Wigan.
Anyway, shouldn't you be sorting our NYE party?!
Not sure about Vin Diesel being a Widnes fan though. All I can find is that someone once gave him a shirt when he was promoting a film over here. If that makes him a fan then Tyson follows Great Britain.

no they are fans, ive seen them both walking down wheldon rd with the kids kitted out in cas colours many times.
cas is a labour stronghold and a safe seat no need for political gimmicks in cas, unlike the rest of the country we still remembered what the torries did when thatcher was around.
