We're coming to make some noise!: |
|
| Well Ryan Hudson got some stick but it fizzled out after only a few rounds so I suspect Hock with his in your face nature will rightly get plenty of stick when he starts lashing out but I can't see it lasting too long.
So Monaghan gets barked at, sang dog related songs and has a couple of chants made for him...I am sure he won't understand much of it and what he does understand he will take with a pinch of salt possibly even have a good chuckle to himself about it because I am sure he would do the same in our position (not doggy!). If he found simulating an act on a dog funny he's gotta find the songs and chants funny too surely?!

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

Did it for real instead?
This is just Smith supporting his player as he tries to settle in. Nothing more, nothing less. If grown men want to amuse themselves by singing songs about dogs and barking than I think that says more about them than it does Joel Monaghan. I doubt whether Smith gives a toss whether anyone gets fined or not.

24084.jpg Disco - Expansion of the game is a good thing, undoubtedly, but in the main what people simply want to assert is that you don't kill the roots to spread the tree.
The Curtism - The battles are fought on the field and the friends are made in the bar. There's no hatred among real men.

| Wasn't going to join in on this thread, just laugh at the pictures.
But from the Cas side we have talked this to death.
Shortly after the 'Thomas' book PR event and subsequent fine Cas fans were scouring SKY for any indiscretions and then lo and behold Leeds giving stick to James Graham and Mr Silverwood.
Now some fans contacted RFL quoting the 'RESPECT' campaign, can you guess what happened?
Abuse is Abuse just does not cut it with the RFL selective hearing office, and I agree with other posters where does this stop?

You would never catch me with one of those childish signatures: |

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Jeez, how long is it going to take Cas fans to figure out that calling someone a w*nker, or even a ginger w*nker is not the same, either in the eyes of the law or of the Respect policy as calling someone a gay w*nker?
Your club had its ignorant, prejudiced underbelly exposed for all to see. Live with it.

4652.gif I wouldn't bother reading this bit, there is nothing interesting, witty or insightful down here, just this collection of boring words explaining that you really are wasting your time browsing this signature in the vain and futile hope that there will be a nugget, nay, a veritable goldmine of witticisms or divine philosophy. In reality, all you're going to get is disappointment, a sense of hopelessness and a random word.

A handful of beered up 'supporters' are not representative of the vast majority of Cas fans. How many times is this going to be dragged up? We copped a fine and have made moves to stop this happening again. This was supposed to be a thread about the potential abuse for Joel Monaghan and yet our club is dragged through the mud yet again.

This whole ginger thing is very interesting
A little while ago, probably about 5 or 6 years, there was a poster campaign for a gas company that showed a ginger couple with a ginger a baby and the tag line was “there are some things in life you can’t choose!” There was no mistaking the context and it was meant to be humorous
I found that fascinating – if that had been about the colour of their skin, the outrage would have been immediate and huge
Many people will say it is just a bit of fun but I bet it isn’t for the young kid who gets bullied every day because society has now decided that it is OK to deride one part of community for a physical characteristic and not another
Joel Monaghan has ginger hair and I would be a hell of a lot more comfortable with him receiving stick about his dog sex simulation activities than part of his appearance
You say it is not an issue in the eyes of the law or Respect policy but how much discrimination does there have to be for it to become an issue and is it not too late by then?
I guess in the end it’s a sad indictment of the fact that some people will always search out ways to find people to abuse...
And before anybody asks the question... yes, I do have ginger hair (but I’m also a 16 stone former rugby league player so I don’t get bullied that often)

You are big enough and strong enough to have comments made about you and rise above it, as we all should be.
However racist and homophobic comments arent simply banter or name calling, they are expressions of real and abhorrent discrimination.

I'm defending the majority of Cas supporters who didn't subject Thomas to homophobic abuse and are getting a touch fed up when we are all thrown under one label because of a handful of idiots.
