| I actually want Welsh team(s) in the competition .... But, like London, the RFL have messed up again.
The problem is placing ONE team in a particular area, when actually you should be placing TWO teams in Wales. The most logical conurbations would be Swansea and Cardiff.
Ever wondered why Bradford Vs Leeds or Wigan Vs Saints etc. get the biggest crowds ... That's right, they're local derbies. The sort of game that is talked over at the workplace on the Monday morning, the one where families are divided and where you can have bragging rights over the people around you. How can you have a 'local rival' that is in the case of London over 180 miles away ?
It also just happens that Swansea and Cardiff hate the sight of each other in sporting events too, assuring a good crowd ....

I'm pretty sure it's more to do with the rivalry built up over a long period of time. If you stuck a new club somewhere, it doesn't mean it's an automatic rivalry. It would take years and events etc to cause tension between two teams. Also I can't see how stretching a limited League support in Wales at the moment to 3 teams would do any good.

| It does sound like Crusaders problems run a lot deeper than Wakey's did, who were used as a test case to resolve the image rights issue. They will be coming after a lot more clubs now, but the Crusaders sound like the taxman might be the least of their worries.

| Another reason to show that they should have never been promoted and then reinstated as "someone else" in the first place, very limited efforts to develop the welsh players that welsh rugby league needs - very limited sympathy if they are wound up

Missed that bit out as it's only Wakefield fans who seem to believe this is the case and other sides (Hudds - Fien) took action on tax changes yonks back so if Wakey didn't that was their fault and not a wider issue.

Exactly! Plus to add to over post on Swanse & Cardiff, these two hate each other through football & rugby sides so why would league necessairly benefit from that?

It wouldn't be a suprise in all honesty and this is not just making things up straight forward. Come on how do you get skint RL club took over by skint Football club and the next minute hire one of the most high profile coaching staffs in the game and also manage to put a squad of fully O/S (more expensive) players that quickly?
I think we are being naive to think otherwise. How right it is or not makes no difference but it's not hard to see, Quins do ok then when RFL moves onto Wales suddently they need this mysterious 'task force' to return. Look to keep Cru in SL last year the RFL had to get stuck in and help them out financially simple as that, if they have set up re payments or whatever then fine but to say had no financial help is just daft as where did the money come from?

| Thinking about it though it's just typical RFL stupidity again tbh. A club set's up in Wales they throw them into SL with an ownder with a history of doing over clubs and no real structure set up. That goes wrong so they fling them up north to Wrexham get a task force in to sign up Noble, Sharp, Harris and a shed loads of Aussies who will be on good wack and then the nest minute are suddenly suprised that they can' actually pay these players and oh look... the debt left from the 'first crusade' hasn't actually dissapeared.
Two years in a row this is now and if doesn't go well we could lose RL in Wales forever... WHY? Because the RFL rushed it all through at chance one!

Nothing like London 5 years ago.......London "bailed themselves out" on the advice/instruction of the IR/HMR&C. The bill wasn't paid, even though we offered to pay it in installments.....the company wound up and the SL Chairmen voted to let the new company in and for the Broncos to keep their points.......some chairmen weren't happy, some abstained, but the club got the votes required.......Ian Lenegan was announced as a new Majority stake holder and the move to TW2 was announced.
The RFL were in no way lienient with the club, in no way gave us any special dispensation and ensured we broke no rules......unlike your club.....or specifically the owner of your club who has facilitated your recent success....whilst holding on to shares he was told to relinquish...in direct breach of RFL regulations.
If you want to discuss other incidents of your club bending/breaking rules that were in place at the time....please continue to spout unsubstantiated drivel....your clubs SL history is filled with incidents such as salary cap breaches...note the plural

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

' Death riding ' eh ? , so its all my fault ?
I like many others tried to tell you the Bridgend experiment was a joke , so what do they do ? , attempt to do exactly the same thing that they did at Gateshead a decade earlier , and when it all ends the same , that will be my fault
Grow up
It really does make me laugh , the RFL keep telling us all to take our time , build up slowly , it's all about long term planning , get the off field right
Then they jump in with both feet , trying to rush new clubs up to levels that are never going to be sustainable
They cant even follow their own advice , when the Crusaders fold I will not be happy , especially if it results in the Skorpions going the same way , but dont expect me not to say " I told you so "

| IIRC when the move to Wrexham was announced the RFL stated that the old club had already had this seasons SL money advanced to them. If that was the case and the new club were operating without that income then I'm surprised it took this long before the cash ran out.

| Where is all the ACTUAL evidence to prove these allegations/rumours etc?
A lot of this, to me, is supposition or people on a hope and pray it's right thought train.
Anyway I would STILL rather have the Crusaders in SL because they bring something to the game rather than the former bankrupt club of Widnes who bring NOTHING new!!

Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

Would anyone be suprised if that happened? It would mean that the RFL could avoid all the hassle of the next franchise round!
