| Jesus Christ, some right nobs on this thread.
I went today and really enjoyed it. Some big hits from both teams, but Scotland just had nothing in the three-quarters which allowed Wales to be ruthless, and Briers just completely bossed the show with his kicking game.
I believe there are highlights of this game on Sky on Tuesday this week, some nice tries well worth watching.
Sure the crowd may have been small, and many of the players may not have been born in the country they were representing, but the passion and skill was there for all to see. This was a very enjoyable Test Match.

RL fans need to stop worrying about this kind of . It holds the game back. The (admittedly small) crowd today didn't care less, those players were representing their nation, and in turn the players were representing the nation of their parents or grandparents.
The WC was the same a couple of years back, and the media coverage in placs like Scotland and Ireland was 99% positive, with the only negativity coming from moaning rl fans.

I'm only going by what someone else on here has posted... but how on earth can a team playing as 'Scotland' be taken seriously when only ONE of their players are actually Scottish?
Ignore all that 'grandparent' cráp... if you are born in England you are English... if you are born in Scotland you are Scottish....

That isn't how it works in any sport in the world AFAIK, and fans of these other sports don't bang on about it.

I disagree.
I dont have the stats in front of me (and I really can't be bothered looking them up) but I'd be reasonably sure that a very high percentage of the England RL side were probably born in England... same as a high percentage of the Aussie side were born in Australia.
If I went and lived in Japan for a few years it wouldnt make me Japanese would it?
I believe there are slightly over 5,000,000 people living in Scotland.
Even when you take out all the non Scots from that figure I'm sure you could find 17 to make up a Rugby League side

My point was that every sport has rules similar to League (apart from the farcical changing nations rules!). They don't bleat about it.
Seriously, so what? Those 34 players today were knocking lumpsout of each other representing Scotland v Wales, and that's good enough for me.

So you dont think if that porridge munching, tartan wearing, bagpipe playing true blue Scotsman Danny Brough (born in Yorkshire, England) was deemed good enough to play for England in this years 4 nations in Australia he would have gone?
He would have had that white jersey on and boarded that plane to NZ quicker than you could say 'och'
Glad you enjoyed watching your game today... but to call it Wales v Scotland is a bit of a joke!
