The way their treated Mike Gregory was a disgrace along with breaking the salary cap to ensure that Castleford went down and not themselves.

Shock horror Saints fan hates Leeds (ok hates too strong)

Ok dont actually hate Leeds as a RL team, they've got some decent players,
over the 50+ years I've been watching we've had some cracking games, I've admired some of their players, John Holmes was always a pleasure to watch.

Its just that they seem to have more pain in the a*** fans than any other side (present company excepted)
As much as Saints have a great rivalry with Wigan I respect their fans, they're generally pretty knowlegeable on the game, then there's Warrinton fans........well they can't help where they're born.

I don't like sweeping generalisations but a lot of the Leeds fans I've met over the years aren't what I'd class as rugby league people. On quite a few occasions I've been sat in the stands at Headingly and I always get the Leeds fan who is there with a first-time fan, so he tries to explain to him/her whats going on but he's talking and has obviously never picked up an oval ball in his life.
Its the same when they come to Saints, there's a few spare stand seats near us so we often seem to get fans who are on some corporate bash, the equivalent of Roy Keanes Prawn Sandwich brigade.
Then there's that stupid Yawkshire, Yawkshire chant, do they ever count how many of their players haven't come from Yorkshire, and most probably couldn't point to it on a map.

No doubt on here there are some genuine Leeds fans on here so my apologies to them, but I bet you also know the types of fans I mean, do they make you cringe as well.

As I said many cracking games with Leeds over the years so dont really hate the club.

Saints - a long list of irritating players who let their country down. Pryce,Cunningham, Long, Cunningham, Wilkin, Cunningham. Really poor crowds for a big town and a club that has won so much. Dull style of play contrary to their tag as entertainers. I still love them though - they play RL.

Whelan and Lyndsay we're a disgrace. Glad a Wiganer runs the club now instead of a Yorkshireman and a Boltoner!

For 5 years I travelled either from Dublin to Glasgow, or London to Glasgow in the later years, to take my Season Ticket Seat at Celtic. I thrived on the hatred of the Blue side of town, cheered more when Rangers lost than when we won and took great pleasure in anything bad that happened to their club.......then, as if by some miracle, I grew up.

If I had the thousands of pounds back that I wasted on travel, tickets, grog, accommodation etc I would be loaded.

Thank God that Rugby League doesn't have that level of hatred in it's derbies.....I understand the Hull thing, as the wigan Saints, but it is 99% banter. It's what makes League the best game in the world.
Bazza, get down to Wembley for the Challenge Cup final. 80,000 fans in different shirts, freely mixing, having a chat and getting on fine with hardly a copper in sight.
Imagine tryiong to do that with a soccer event ...


That said, I voted for Salford...well, it's either us or them for the chop next year
