| err the only RL team that lodges with a football team is Crusaders – whose stadium is far from fancy.
AFAIK, at Wigan, Huddersfield and Hull, both the football and rugby league teams lodge with third party who owns the dual-use stadium (ie it's no more a football stadium than it is a rugby league stadium)

| Crusaders and Wrexham fc both lodge with a 3rd party Wrexham sports village owned by the moss guy so even that is a multi use stadium

| The PL may consider it but as has been mentioned the idea of a joint Liverpool/Everton stadium isn't going away.
Liverpool need £100m now to lower the debts of their owners and then aquire more funds to buy the quality players if they are to qualify for and compete in the Champions League. The funds for either plan are not imminent and they appear to be heading for financial trouble.
Liverpool City Council has always favoured a joint stadium and ultimately this may be the only financially sound way forward for both clubs.
The PL are well aware of these facts.
They may propose the plan but carrying it through could be a different matter altogether.

Depends on how they clarify term 'dual usage' two different sports = dual, but as they seem to think its sports other than football that cause the damage then two clubs playing the same sport could be considered 'single usage'

| Quote: 100% Warrior "I do not know about Hull FC, but Wigan Warriors have a LEGALLY BINDING contract with both Wigan Athletic and Wigan Council for the DW Stadium (formerly JJB Stadium) to be a "multi-sport venue". When it first opened even Orrell RU had a season there.
As for banning RL from Wembley, does that mean NFL/RU/motorsports (as they have had a motoring event there) etc etc be banned too? From the national stadium? Which I'm led to believe has also a legally binding contract with the Government who part-funded the stadia, to be of a multi-sport stadia?'"
Orrell have never staged a game at jjb/dw let alone a season

| I think it was mooted originally that Orrell would use it as Whelan was involved with them. By the time the stadium was ready to use they had gone belly up though so it never happened.

The Wigan fans might disagree with you there

suddenly owning a less glamorous stadium seems more appealing than lodging in a fancy football stadium.
the football league versus the rugby football league would be like mike tyson versus ronnie corbett.'"
Clueless.
The two sides most at 'risk', Hull FC and Wigan, do not play in football stadia. And both of them have long leases to play at the dual-use stadia they use. Far more likely that the football sides would have the problem TBH.

The clubs in immediate trouble if this was proposed would be
Reading/London Irish Got a chance of promotion
Watford/Saracens Watford no chance.
Lndon Irish play the same time of year as Reading and thepremier league may kick up a fuss as I think Rading own the stadium.

| Don't think this is such an issue now as far as Hull FC are concerned, not after todays results anyway.

which doesn't explain Wigan RL being kicked out so Athletic could play last season does it?

| there are always going to be conflicts of interest in these type of arrangements and someone is going to have to take priority.
hence wigans biggest home game of the season was played at widnes a while back
the huge sums of money involved in premiership football is always going to be too big a prize to be compromised by any lease to anyone.
if this goes ahead you can expect any rugby club sharing with a football team with premiership aspirations to be re located some time soon.
the chairman of wigan football club could probably buy the rugby club(and close it down if he wanted to get rid of them) for the price of a decent premiership striker.
in sport and business money is god. some people just will not accept this.

that was a scheduling issue, that had been overlooked during the takeover was it not?
