RL owns australia. is making massive inroads in nz. as well as fiji, samoa, tonga etc

png is a rl heartland, union is zilch

where does that leave union?

dieing off in scotland

mid side sport in wales, a tiny nation

mid size sport in ireland, a small nation

a small sport in france and well behind soccer in england, and in some cases beaten by league

combine them and this is more than every single club union competition in the world.

the NRL on its own draws more fans than the combined total of club union globally.

nsw and queensland have very large populations

club union is just tiny.

PNG has a bigger population that NZ and all the Pac Islands put together, this makes RL the #1 Rugby Code in the Southern Hemiphere.

No it doesnt icon_lol.gif SL average attendence 2009: 9336, guiness premiership 11786.

Shall we take participation numbers into account too? 3.5million people play rugby union worldwide whilst only 650,000 (of which 450k are in australia) play rugby league across the globe. icon_lol.gif

Rugby league is making great strides around the world but only in Aus and PNG is league king whilst in the other 128 countries that union is played, union is king.

little wonder our players are highly sought after by japanese ru, french ru, RU in england or even AFL.
