The comment was mainly referring to the $hite way in which we have been run this year than my wanting you to replace us.

I think you deserve a place in Super League and thought the two picked last time would be us and you.

I said things about Widnes I should not have when the applications were announced and before. I don't mind you as a club and I haven't ripped into any other club that much apart from Leigh. That tells me it was a result of the rubbish that was being sent back and fore amongst fans around the time of the Super League application process. In the cold light of day I don't wish any club bad luck and hope the game grows to be strong with clubs everywhere.

I just hope we can get some people in place now that know what it takes to be a Super League club and apply themselves in the right way. A money man from South Wales would do also to keep us here and keep the kids coming through as well as give them a target to aim for with a team in Super League.

If this turns out to be utter rubbish, which seems the case if the rumour isn't at your end too, then I am sure you're in next time anyway.

This latest pronouncement is cause for concern, as I see it anyhow...

It hardly speaks of a considered plan to nurture RL in north Wales. Instead it reeks of a desperate short term measure to help rescue an ailing soccer club.

“The only deal we have with them is for the three matches next season,” said Mr Retout.

“However, I would be very keen to host more games here because we (Wrexham FC) can’t survive on gates of 1,800 people (attendance for Tuesday’s home game versus Forest Green).”[/i

Contact Simon Moran and beg for his assistance.
He's stinkin loaded and look what he's done with Warrington in ten years both behind the scenes and as owner.
A nice christmas card might start you off icon_wink.gif

The whole situation is a farce , and one that has happened because Richard Lewis knew best.

Celtic were not ready , should have been allowed another 3 years in the National leagues to build a really strong club and then go up.

Wrexham will not work for Celtic , and I hope that all the Crusaders fans in South Wales get behind the new club in Bridgend and support it with the passion they have given previously. Let the club develop at a natural pace and without meddling RL officals.

The Merger rumours are in all likelyhood just crap. Widnes do not need this at this point in time. Lets just concentrate on next year in the Championship and go from there. Hopefully the RFL can get next seasons fixtures out before next August but wont hold my breath.

When all the dust is settled , one thing all RL fans should unite behind is in calling for the head of this shambolic administration to resign.

Good Luck to the new South Wales Team , whoever they may be.

The Vicar

Your vitriol against other clubs and fans was astounding and certainly didnt leave me wishing you all the best. Your comments wound up good honest supporters of clubs whose future began to look bleak because of, what is being proven now, was a ridiculous decision to put an unprepared club into super league for the sake of expansion.

Maybe you should review your posts and start cutting into that humble pie

For me the key sentence is 'The RFL's executive committee will formally rule on the Crusaders' future today'. Wonder when we'll get an announcement (typed he with tongue firmly in cheek).

Was Celtic going up THAT much of a bad call.
Yes there was opposition but there was also plenty calling in favour.
It's been a bad idea and the relavant people have had their 'I told you so's' now can't we get behind the sport instead of ridiculing it into the ground?
There's other clubs with financial problems too, just get behind your club and let what will be happen

Who is ridiculing? This is just a discussion on one of the current burning topics...

I'd like to think the vast majority of people will, it is OUR sports reputation after all. I wouldn't want to see any team fail, and alot of work has gone into Celtic that should be recognised. They walked Championship 1, Grand Finalist in the Championship at first attempt etc. and beat Wigan and Bradford last season. Surely their chance to kick on from all this success, but somebody sat in a big leather chair somewhere thinks different!

Wrexham to Widnes is a lot closer than Gateshead to Hull.

They havent even moved though yet and are still classed as a South Wales club. What would be the point of merging something that doest even exist as such. Widnes dont need a merger, were well capable of sustaining ourselves.

I wonder how much Mr Samuels wants for his club? I mean what would stop the Widnes owner buying Celtic and then move the licence to Widnes. After all the RFL have already publically stated there is nothing in the rules about moving location. Mind you, if that was to happen, I don't think the RFL would be too impressed and would fully expect Widnes to lose that licence next time round.

Widnes should do what they have done since the day the licences were announced - stay out of any debate, unless it is to publically support the RFL and to wish any club in SL luck.
