Too right TRB, the botch up over a 'macedonian passport' and having 10 or 11 'non fed trained' players and the fact you have kept having so many of these players is very disappointing.

| Quote: TURFEDOUT "Well its a step in the right direction, because it was 11 last year.
[If Stosic can get a macedonian passport you will have 11 - clearly the aim of Trin]
However it is still very poor to have 10 non fed players in a squad.
But what does that say about the rest of the clubs that have 7/8 in their squad?
[It says that they have 30-50% fewer than Wakey]
In my opinion that they are not very poor, just poor.
Barring a couple of exceptions(Rhinos...)all clubs have too many non fed players in their squads.
Unfortunately the clubs put club before country and we are no where nearer reducing overseas signings than we were 10 years ago.
I dont have the answers to stop it happening, because the game tried,
[Perhaps your Chairman and JK could try a harder? ]
but clubs broke rank and challenged the quota systems and went looking for exemptions.'"

| As I already posted my take on the issue on the Trinity board and openly admitted my disappointment that the club are relaying heavily on imports this season. I’m happy the number of imports has been reduced but sad that it is Stosic who is going, especially when the club needlessly signed up Ben Jeffries.
Apparently it was a clause in Stosic’s contract that he needed to obtain his Macedonian passport to enter into the second year of his contract. He could’ve also represented Serbia in the recent internationals and he would’ve been registered as a non-fed player but he went to the USA on a pre-booked holiday instead.
Neither side are blameless in this scenario, Stosic and his agent should’ve sorted this out a while ago and the club should’ve put plans in place to guard against losing their best prop, i.e. not filling up the 5 quota places before this issued had been resolved.
Still if he does leave Trinity then any club with the available space should take a look at him. He would make an excellent signing for the Crusaders.

Despite probably consistently having the smallest budget and producing some excellent talent, that we were not able to keep due to our budget. Not once have the RFL had to bend the rules to keep us in SL, not once have we had to oversee the destruction of another club. Now that is something any Huddersfield fan should be [iashamed[/i off.
God knows what we would of achieved with a sugar daddy throwing a million a season in spending money at us. Probably a lot better than what Huddersfield have in the last 10 years.

the rfl did once help you out, they deducted you 4 points in the season 2001/2002 and upon appeal it was reduced to 2 points , thus relegating the giants .. normally i dont abuse wAKEY AS THEY ARE DOING A GREAT JOB WITH THE FACILITIES THEY HAVE but sometimes i take exception to the bikering

| RL in general, and Wakey in particular, are beginning to put their house in order, but it will take time.
As support to these facts I point to the 7 products of our Champion Junior Academy side 2009 who have been promoted to the first team squad.
Wakey are working within the rules as set, but are also well aware of the spirit of these agreements. The current policy is the correct one for our club at this time.
Our junior development is very highly regarded by the RFL.

Your junior development may be spot on and I would applaud that but when the munchkins can't get into the team because of a two-bit, tin-pot Aussie you are making a rod for your own back. They youngsters have a sense of belonging to Wakefield and would run their blood to water for the club, yet are dispossessed by several over-the-hill pension seekers.
When the Championship and Superleague are filled with disillusioned Ex-Wakie young guns you will see what I mean.

Not true.
It is true that we have not produced sufficient quality or quantity of players for several years - we are not alone in this as other clubs have had to put their houses in order as well. The ones we have produced have been able to find a way through to the first team, and eventually the current crop of youngsters will hopefully do exactly that. But you have to have the quality and quantity coming through if you are going to create a void in the shop window.
It won't happen overnight - but it IS happening!

Sadly you seem to be confusing starting a thread with bickering.
The thread is on a legitimate topic. However some wakey fans can do little more than write personal insults (see chapsters playground jibes) or continually indulge themselves in off topic rants (see dee hell going on about sugar daddies etc).
Now, back to topic

When you look at international academy sides rarely do more than half a dozen become SL regulars. So 7 from a club side looks for more like making up the numbers cheaply (the rationale suggeted by some wakey fans for the glut of overseas players).
However if your 20's win the comp next year then maybe you really have uncovered 7 SL players for the future.
If wakey are aware of the spirit of the rules they have shown that they do not care one bit about it. A great shame.
On the topic of so many overseas journeymen The RFL will not hold such recruitment in high regard.

10 overseas players in a team is way too many, and can't be defended on any grounds at all.'"
Why can't it be defended?
The job of our club is to get the best team it can with the resources it's got.
We seem to be doing that. The situation might not be to everybody's liking but if it's the way it has to be, so be it. Tbh, whilst you and the likes of MG are perfectly entitled to your views, you come across as pompous, self righteous g1ts with too much time on your hands.
You worry about your own team and let us worry about ours.

No point in an argument with such a one-eyed snake as you seem to be.
I've put my view across. You decide what you will - as if you haven't already, Mr Judge, Mr Jury and Mr Executioner!

That's right, don't dispute the facts. Try a bit of name calling, didn't take you long
there are plenty of UK players OOC. Filling up with overseas journeymen is not the only option.
