| I'll take that as you backing down then.
Probably for the best. You still haven't made a point. The best sign for this is when people start lposting just emoticons to delay the realisation and then when they get really desperate they start using pictures. But you haven't gotten that desp... oh wait!

What is it that Wigan actually did to get more in? I know it was something to do with Heinz, but what exactly?'"
Heinz bought a load of seats in the north stand and gave them to employees IIRC

| I must admit to being disappointed with Huddersfield's averages this year, and I'm sure Ken Davy is.
Their average season to date is around 300 higher than 2008's average, and this despite the revolutionary season ticket offer.
Some of their crowds this year have been lower than the corresponding fictures last year, and this despite the fact that they are now 3rd in the league.
What more is there for the Hudds club to do? They have cheap season tickets, free admission for kids under 16, and not a bad team on the field.
Seems a bit disappointing to me, and I'm sure the club were hoping for much much better.

Guess it comes dow to profile in the town and making the game day experience one that the whole family wants to be at and that the kids insist on going along to.

| Quote: Wellsy13 "You're argument for Hull having bigger crowds than Warrington (you brought it up, not anyone else) was:
1. We merged with Gateshead to get bigger crowds.
and then after realising how stupid an argument that was:
2. There's nothing else in Hull
So, now that we have established there is more in Hull than there is in Warrington, what else have you got?
Oooh I love it when people try and patronise me and then make themselves look stupid all on their own! Second one today after roversmad. Maybe you should do the same as he did and quit whilst you've made a big enough fool of yourself!
It is difficult in this part of the country though. The north west is simply soccer crazy. Liverpool, Everton, Man United, Man City take your pick - Those 4 clubs average attendances come up nearly 200,000 plus the thousands if not millions of people who are happy to call themselves football fans just because they buy a shirt and watch their team on the box.
I would say football fans outnumber rugby fans in Widnes by bout 10:1 if you go on the number of football shirts you see compared to rugby ones. Some of that has to do with Widnes not being in SL but there's no doubt 4 massive football clubs in the area has a negative affect on attendances and its probably the same for Warrington too. Sure, some kids are happy to watch both football and rugby, but I know from when I was growing up that there is a 'one or the other' mentality. Unless you are a real top side like Saints, it is very hard to attract big numbers.

| Concerning that our crowds are down by 20% - genuinely at a loss to explain it.

| Quote: Red-4-life "Funny how you'll say its nearly as many as us but you won't say it about Celtic'" But look at the figures that Bilko has provided. Compared to your attendances last season Celtic are up 78% and your only up 16.8% - surely you must be concerned as to why being in SL isn't drawing in much bigger crowds?

| With Huddersfield, I suspect their might be a suggestion that home fans numbers have risen, but the numbers seen from visiting fans have actually dropped in some cases

RUBBISH
football has nothing to do with it. If those 4 teams were playing at home that would still only be 220,000 people out of how many.
Rl is a better game and soccer cannot compete on price, What is your pricing policy like, what are you doing to get kids and familkies in. At Huddersfield i paid 3125 for a season ticket for me and the 3 kids. that is the way you compete with soccer. Get the punters in and keep them.
