The momentum had stopped, Clarkey showed that on Sky, through tears. Hock is a dumb player at the best of times and raising his elbow instead of trying to slide over was simply stupid. |

They are inferring it shouldn't have been a try because of the forward pass (but once that was missed as they often are) there was nothing wrong with the grounding or legs in touch.

To be honest it should have been 19-0, nothing wrong with the Saints tries, the wigoon ones were dubious with official assistance.

I couldn't believe it when he did Fa'asavalu for not playing the ball correctly. Having watched it again, you can clearly see he was stood on two feet and 'attempted' to play the ball with his foot. while he was doing this, he had 2 Wigan players on his back, but never the less, he played the ball correctly, just as every other player did all game. Thats the most frustrating thing, just 2 minutes later Hansen (i think), did exactly the same with 2 Saints players on his back, yet that was play on.

TBF, i'm usually OK with Thaler, always thought he was one of the better refs,a dn he backed this up for the first 60 minutes. He did OK, he made a few mistakes (the forward pass etc.), but i thought the last 20 minutes he seemed to lose it. Going to the video ref for Gidley's try confirmed this for me.

Momentum probably would have done, but as soon as you lift the arm like he did, it becomes a double movement and a no try.
