Matty Johns was very positive on the CEntral Coast bears in this weeks Rugby League Week.

heres what he had to say :

1. The central coast bears is a no brainer, it simply has to happen and will happpen

2. this old clubs lights appeared to be just out but men such as greg florimo refused to let it die even when the bears were out of sight, out of mind

3. the central coast is a RL stronghold, and while our game harbours ambitions to be truly national, you simply cant ignore the heartlands.

4. the central coast bears will of course re-engage so many of the old North Sydney Bears supporters who have understandably turned their backs on the game. i cant tell you how many Bears supporters ive run into who no longer follow Rugby League

Getting a PNG team in the NRL has to be a priority IMO

we could have 20 teams . 4 new teams or relocations sharks need to do something?? another brisbane team . PNG team . another kiwi team . central coast bears team

League Weekly says the Bears will be captained by Chris Heightington in 2012, when he is a free agent and when the Bears plan to return to the NRL.

agree . bears should come back . play a few games at north sydney oval . let the kids climb the huge trees . like we use too

A PNG and second New Zealand team should join the NRL to grow the game internationally but cant see it happening

A PNG team will never happen, not financially viable.

google PNG bid for nrl theres a lot on there including the government support etc.

Yeah seen it before, the government pledged their support during the world cup, from memory. It'll never happen though.

Shame really, I'd love them to be in there, the most fanatical support in RL.

Is there also a chance of violence / crowd trouble like we have seen before in PNG.

Culture, not violence

Their life is heavilly invested in RL with their tribal villiages playing each other. When the roos turn up it's a sell out and people outside insist on still going in so they riot, there is a youtube video somewhere showing them rioting.

An NRL franchise would have security in place to combat this. if only money wasn't an issue, they'd make a great franchise.

Well im sure if they were given the chance of an NRL team they would stay sensible and not ruin their opportunty with stupid riots.

Suppose they'll be needing qutie a big shiny stadium to hold the amount of fans an NRL team would attract.
