I fail to see how I've been anymore biased than anyone else.
People don't like Mcilorum fine, I do.
Maybe some people like other players over Faz, I don't. Other than that I don't see any bias.

We've also spent far too many years playing people out of position so Tomkins should play full back.
How anyone can pick Briscoe or Makinson over Charnley is beyond me, look how many tries Josh has scored compared to the games played. Last year everyone wanted Briscoe in because he only didn't score much because Hull were rubbish, what's the excuse this year?
Tomkins
Charnley
Watkins
Shenton
Hall

Smith

Mcilorum
Cooper

Clark
Cooper
G Burgess

Cooper looks a decent player this year but not sure he's good enough to be named twice. A little bit of Wigan favouritism in there but still an excellent team if you stick in Hill and someone else for the Cooper twins.

I don't know. That could be seen as a negative tactic, but defence does win big games.
Listening to reports, I now very much doubt if Inglis will play in the Four Nations. It sounds like he's playing through a painful hip injury for Souths.

| Watkins did fine defending against Inglis last year. You can't start picking backs because of their defence. Shenton deserves another crack, he's solid in every area and has had a great season.

He's had a fine season, so may well deserve a crack, but in that tournament he didn't give Ryan Hall one single pass.

Doh!!
I meant Hill off the bench. When you look at his stats he seems to have a fantastic ability to get a quick ptb, so i'd bring him on when clark comes on.

Two tries in about 8 minutes were scored down Shenton's side just before he got injured. The flood of points had already started, and yes, it continued after he went off.

It was 16-22 when he went off to Aussies. Just because it was down his side, doesn't mean Shenton was at fault nor should he be called weak in defence because of it when he really isn't.

17 try assists this season suggests he may have grown from his younger days.

I'd definitely have Ablett in the team somewhere. I thought he was outstanding against us last week. He was literally all over the pitch in defence and attack.

Then why did you bring up the fact that the Kangaroos "ran riot down his side" once he went off, if you don't want to hear that they were scoring down his side while he was still on?

Ablett has been one of Leeds' best players for most of this season. I'd definitely have him in the squad.

| The team is becoming a bit easier to pick as players are ruled out with injury. I would of had Watkins and Reed as centres, as Reed is out then Shenton is the next best this season. I still keep changing my mind as to whether I'd pick Tomkins at full back and Hardaker as either Centre or squad player or to have Tomkins in the halves and Hardaker at FB. I'm not sure Tomkins and Widdop would make a great combination and would be tempted to put an organiser such as Smith in at 7. Hooker is another difficult one, Roby is a certainly and the best in the country IMO, but does he play for 80, rotate with Clarke or would the balance of MM and Roby as a combo work better (you don't need to quote that bit as I know the answer from most, I highly rate MM and am entitled to my opinion)?
The no brainers in the team IMO are 1/6 Tomkins, Wing - Hall, Centre - Watkins, 6/7 Widdop, props - Graham, Hill, G Burgess, SR - Ferres, LF - SOL, 9/bench Roby.
For me the rest of the team is up for grabs but my 24 man squad would be - Tomkins, Hardaker, Hall, Briscoe, Charnley, Watkins, Shenton, Widdop, Smith, Sneyd, Graham, Hill, G Burgess, T Burgess, Cooper, Roby, Clarke, MM, Ferres, Farrell, Ablett, Westwood, SOL, Westerman.
That's probably different from my last contribution to am England thread and will probably change again before the end of the season. There is at least a bit of competition for places in most positions.
