I haven’t seen this morning’s game yet so won’t comment on the performance of the Burgess boys in this one

But I have seen every other Souths game this year and both Sam and George have been as good as any two forwards in the NRL as far as I’m concerned, the dominant players in a dominant pack for the majority of the season (Fafita at Cronulla probably the other stand out)

I actually thought Tom did very well when he broke into the team and he was unlucky to lose his spot again I thought, certainly he performed better than Asotasi when he has been alongside him (as I say, I haven’t seen this mornings game, maybe Asotasi had a blinder)

Putting all your Burgess eggs in the same basket is basket-case folly and will fail miserably when it really counts.

How to spot Burgii sycophants?

They'll tell you the Burgess Bros were wholly responsible for Souths march to the Semi Finals this year.

They'll resort to providing selective stats in order to fit their Burgii agenda.

They'll also tell you today's loss wasn't their fault

Sadly the Burgess family have been in the media spotlight ever since the first one signed for Souths. It's a well known fact the whole family wanted to migrate to Australia. Russell Crowe has certainly used the 'all 4 brothers are playing for Souths' thing for all it's worth. The family (for whatever reason) are the darlings of Fairfax media and it's impossible to read the SMH page online without some story about one or other of the Burgess family. Sam and Luke go to the beach. Luke goes swimming. Sam jumps off a wharf into the sea. Luke and Sam meet a young fan at the beach and shake his hand. Sam rides a scooter. One of them gets his bits out. One of them apologises for smashing a car window. The whole family play on the X Box. Julie shaves her legs.

The media are probably to blame. They have built them up to be some kind of incredible talent who can single handedly propel Souffs to their first premiership since whenever.

As we saw today it doesn't always go to plan.

The media hype surrounding that family is truly cringeworthy. It is to be hoped their fawning flock aren't quite as visible during the RLWC as they have been in Australia.

No-one on here has challenged my statistics and I bet few keyboard trolls on here have ever pulled a shirt on or have any real knowledge of the game.

They are too busy in their armchair, hiding behind their keyboard and counting empty plastic seats at Huddersfield, Wigan and Saints.

Lol, you moan when the media ignores the game and you moan when the media hypes up the game by making players stars. Souths didn't lose because of the forwards, the pack more than matched Manly's.
