| Quote: Derwent "The attendance at Hudds yesterday was 6,671 which is a fair bit more than 'almost twice as many'.'"
Earlier I clearly asked what the home following was.
Had Crusaders had the benefit of around 3k Wire fans then the crowd would have looked decent and nobody would have really questioned anything.

giants play in a 25000 seater stadium, if the crowd of 6671 was played at castleford, salford or wakefields grounds nobody would have really questioned anything

The reason I brought it up was nothing to do with how it looked yesterday, it was due to you criticising Crusaders for their low crowd, when actually your support was very low too.

| i do not think that attendances are the be all and end all but if they do not start to pick up then financially they will quickly become untenable.
in the first season away fans will make the trip for novelty value, however after that and especially in the economic climate some fans will have to pick and choose their away fixtures
london, catalans and crusaders away is a big financial layout.
likewise this explains the poor support these teams take away from home.
understandable really, just a consequence of expansion

| I wonder if anyone who flicked over by accident enjoyed a good comeback in the second half and an close finish, or sat counting the crowd?

Exactly! The Crusaders fans made loads of noise and the action was firmly focused on the pitch.

| So given how long Huddersfield have had to grow the game compared to Crusaders you only got 1800 more for a game only available on subscription TV rather than free to air, well done numpty

| I was there, hugely enjoyable afternoon and a really good atmosphere that I hope came across well on the telly. Whoever decided that there were 1,800 there must have left their glasses at home as the stand under the gantry was very well populated (central two blocks didn't have an empty seat between them, and plenty more besides) while it was reasonably busy where we were sat opposite the cameras; would have said at least 2,500 there if not more.
Was great to speak to some locals who were hugely enthusiastic about our game and my mate and I enjoyed the trip so much that we're planning on going to their next game as well - the club shop and ticketing set up etc is pretty impressive, the ground itself is far better than I imagined and all in all it was a pleasant experience that I will certainly be looking to repeat, well done (Cru Cru) Crusaders.

Erm, no.
They got 4,800 more and their game was also on the BBC and free to air.
